Dragon Age 2

Unfortunately I never got to play much of Dragon Age: Origins. I started a game, got a couple hours in, then my roommate(i.e. Asshole) took over my game. I was playing on 360, and the douche overwrote my save, then played it constantly for the next 2 weeks. I wanted to restart my game, but Mass Effect 2 came out, and I needed the trade in credit, so seeing a way to get a petty revenge, I took that bitch to game stop and got ME2(A well justified purchase if I don't say so myself). And thats where my DA:O experienced ended.

I got DA 2 about 2 weeks ago, and although I do see what some people are complaining about(Reused enviorments...etc), I think it is a very good game. I'm over 60 hours in(I'm a completionist) and am thoroughly enjoying it. I also got it on my pc, and am much happier with this version. And altough I have definetly seen better graphics, running the dx11 high graphics options, its pretty damn good looking. Is it stripped down, quasi along the lines of ME2? Sure. Does it ruin the game? Absolutely not. If anything it streamlines alot of boring menu crap without sacrificing much depth. The action is ramped way up(mother fuckers exploding left and right, Son!!), and although starting a little slow and disjointed the story is coming together well. A few moments at the end of the 2nd act were rather impacting and even touched a few personal notes.

Is the game perfect? No. Is it Good? Mos Def! I know people always have to have something to bitch about, but I think this game has gotten more shit than it deserves, especially considering a rather short dev cycle. Of course I would love it if there were more enviorments. Yes, some of the characters are annoying( I'm looking at you, Anders), but all in all I think its a pretty damn good game. Hopefully I'll finish it in the next few days, then I'll complete this blog, but as of now, quit your bitchin, and enjoy a rather awesome game.

Peace

(Edit: A year later, and numerous Good PC RPGs played, and I have to say...with all aplomb.... FUCK THIS GAME. Thats what I get for defending a game I had not yet finished. And, for the record, I will admit I was completely wrong. You win, universe, you win. Good job.)
