If that's the case, let's rectify this.

You can add me on Switch, I'm:

Jason
SW-8467-1359-9002

I'm fairly available, and am up for any kind of smashing, whether you're super expert pro, or you want to just turn items and stage hazards off and practice with somebody, or you want to a casual free for all.

I like playing people with swords but also sometimes magic too?

One of the reasons Final Fantasy VII is a top five game of all time for me is because I hate myself. Because of that, I always found personal resonance in Cloud's story of failure, insecurity, and coveting what others achieved.

I'd like to play more games that can offer some measure of catharsis for my deep-seated issues; unfortunately, in most games, you are implicitly the most talented and successful person currently alive on the planet. Can you, Giant Bomb forum member, recommend me any games that either specifically or indirectly give the player the experience of not being as good as someone else? (Note: I mean single-player games, RPGs preferably. While it would be an amusing answer to the question, I'm already keenly aware of how well competitive multiplayer can provide the aforementioned experience.)

Like, yeah, it's not as convoluted with retailer-specific bonuses as other games have been, but I do think the sheer number of different things being confined to one version or another is on the higher end of the spectrum.

I cannot overstate how personally important Dragon Age is to me, and having Anthem held up as a sword of Damocles over BioWare's future is an abysmal feeling. I have absolutely no interest in games like this, and even among them Anthem looks like a generic, shallow first draft. Inquisition and Andromeda gave me reason enough to doubt that Dragon Age (and BioWare itself) will ever be what I want again, but having to wait for Anthem to fizzle out and go away, meanwhile hoping the company survives it (or worse, Anthem becoming somehow successful and irrevocably dictating their game design going forward), is a real kick to the fucking gut.

Well, got fixed as soon as I installed 1.16 actually, so there you go. Don't miss side content, but especially don't miss patches.

@rethla: I'm not sure if you think I'm the OP, but I've done all the side content I could find. I didn't even go into Tyr's Temple (in which Atreus asks Brok how he got there) until I'd already run into Brok in two other locations.

@burncoat: Nah, I've been taking my sweet time. This is really kind of upsetting. I can't find anything searching for God of War boat dialogue bugged.

Somewhat related, am I the only one not getting any daddy and son boat stories? Dan just casually noted this in the Quick Look, but in my game Kratos has never started telling Atreus any cool myths while we row around. They sit in awkward silence, bar any immediate story dialogue. I'm really worried this is some bug and I'm missing this substantial daddy and son content.

Also, separately, I just finished Alfheim, and I'm curious if others were able to leave that area with 100% completion? I felt like I was pretty thorough, but there were still a number of gaps. In this sort of Metroidvania-eque game, I never know if I'm just going to come back with upgrades later or if I just rowed right past a bunch of collectables because I was too captivated by the oppressive quiet of the boat.
