The problem is that a lot of people do get mad about things, but it doesn't really change much!

The internet got angry about Spore when it came out because of its DRM and not being as scientific as it hyped it up to be, but it doesn't exactly mean that they'll release another version without DRM and with all the cut features included.   The complaints go completely ignored.

As for the people who do defend stupid things, it's not a generational thing...  I've seen older people who grew up with Atari's defending the Wii only having WiiWare games per console and not per account, for example, just because they grew up being Nintendo obsessives!

Woo, thank Lies!  I Ctrl+F'd in that sticky for 'IRC' and when nothing came up, I assumed there wasn't one.  Took me a couple of re-reads to notice it, but I'm there now. :D

As I spend a lot of my time chatting in realtime on the internet, I thought it'd be neat to chat with other GIant Bomb frequenters, as you all seem to have wonderful taste!  In fact, I assumed that there would be a chat room already, but quickly searching the forum for any info on it turned up nothing.

Anyone else interested in starting up a chatroom or something?  I am sure it would be fun!

Being in somewhere really really hot and stuffy, then walking outside into the rain.

I used to go to an arcade where I'd play DDR and get really exhausted...   Stepping outside afterwards when it was pouring down with rain never felt more wonderful!  It's hard to put into words, but even breathing fresh air suddenly feels incredibly satisfying.

Those are awful designs!   This is why you should not let people in politics anywhere near things involving creativity.

They pick up a paintbrush and instantly become totally stumped.   "So...  what represents London... I know, taxis.   Let's make a piece of metal with a taxi light on it.  That will represent the London Olympics perfectly."  "Should it have eyes?"   "Yeah.  Put an eye on it.  DONE."

Natal reminds me of Seaman.

It's an amazing idea in theory, but when you get down to it, I don't think many people would actually dance around in front of their TVs each day.  Even with the Wii, most of the people I know tend to prefer games with more subtle movements, like flicking the wrist to kill someone in No More Heroes, than games where you're standing up waving your arms around.

I think you should definitely go!

Just...  be prepared to pose like an elephant when they show off their painting thing.

Music seems kind of generic to have a Whiskey website about.  You wouldn't really gbe able to do things like 'objects' in the wiki (aside from GUITAR or MICROPHONE or something), and all of the videos would probably be '3 minute experts', and they'd all basically say "This band formed at x location in x year, made these albums, thought about splitting up in x, but then reunited."

On the idea of other Whiskey site suggestions though, one I personally think would work well, would be for fiction books.  There's hundreds of awesome book franchises out there (The Hunger Games springs to mind!), but the only thing people ever read is Harry Potter, Dan Brown, and Twilight, just because its mainstream.  I think if people were to find out about the crazy settings that other books contain by a true book nerd who really gets off on imagination, they'd see how wonderful the lesser known book series are as well as find it really fascinating.   I know I would!

Persona 4 made me appreciate steak.

I mean, I've rarely ever had steak, but if I were to see some kind of steak restaurant in the future, I would immediately think "Oh, I should eat there.   Chie totally recommends it."

I'm in the UK too, and can watch the videos with no problem!

Make sure you don't have any java-disabling-thingies is all I can suggest, really...  the only thing I needed to do to watch videos, was mark GiantBomb as 'trusted' in NoScript in Firefox.
