Top 10 Games of 2020

The list of the top 10 games I played in 2020. What a year this has been, both in the good and in the bad.

List items

  • (PC) This game sat on my Steam wishlist for a long time. I don't know why I waited so long to get it, but when I did pull the trigger I made sure to get all the DLC for the game. I was not disappointed with my decision. I spent the first 3rd of this game just getting my ass handed to me by one of the Chosen, but slowly ground my way up to becoming a dominate force on the battlefield. It was an absolute joy when I finally beat all 3 Chosen and then set my sites on the end game missions.

  • (PC) When this game took the rest of the internet by storm, I was fortunate enough to jump in with a few friends. What a fun time those sessions where. Still haven't made it to the sweet spot of having a full lobby on Discord all in the same game, but still had a blast with the groups when we did play.

  • (PC) I don't know why I gravitated to this game, but after watching shroud play it one time I decided I had to play this. It falls into the same category for me as Risk of Rain (a completely different game style) does. It's an interesting game to play while you listen to some podcasts.

  • (Xbox One X) This game started off in a strange place, story wise, from what I remember the ending of Doom 2016 was, but that did not matter. This game still shoots demons really well. Definitely some areas where there was some frustration from dying a lot, but was able to power thru the levels and keep the ass kicking going.

  • (PC) A friend suggested we get this game, so I bought it one fateful evening, and some of my nights haven't been the same. Last experience: Died 5 times in a row to the ghost, and I still want to play more.

  • (PC & Xbox One X) This game is by far one of the better playing Battle Royales that've played. For me, PUBG still holds the #1 spot for a BR game, but that's probably due to it being the first one I played. For Warzone, though, I've had plenty of fun playing it with friends. Stats for my play time thus far:

Total playtime as of this writing: 12 days, 16 hours, 52 minutes

    Total games played: 637

Total wins: It shows 20, but really it's 21 since the game crashed right at the win screen

    Total Top 10s: 319

    Total Kills: 2,340

    K/D Ratio: 1.20

I think I've played a few matches of this game.

  • (Xbox One X) The follow up to the first Telltale Batman game. This game takes a lot of the changes made to the Batman mythos and keeps going. It makes some very interesting changes to the characters you thought you knew. I feel like I played through the whole game in an afternoon because I was so drawn to learning what happened next. Bummed that there won't be a 3rd game in the series as I'm curious to see where they would've gone next.

  • (Xbox One X) If you thought the first game was crazy, you are in for a surprise with this one. It just seems to be one big thing hitting you after another and the game is just going. Had such a blast playing through this one.

  • (Xbox One X) I didn't quite know what to expect with this game going in, but I was completely impressed when I finished. This game was the starting point that changed some key components about the background of Bruce Wayne/Batman that really impressed me with where they went with it. Really laid some good foundation as a starting point for the Batman characters in this universe.

  • (Xbox One X) Really liked the idea of building my own Jurassic Park. Laying out the different pens that would hold the dinos, doing the research to find the different species. Quite fun. Now, I just need to get myself playing the PC version from the Epic store and figure out what the end game looks like.
