Here's my latest obsession: A fully automated hydrazine maker, complete with a chemistry lab and an atmospheric condenser that shuts off when sufficient hydrogen is made (thanks storage sensor). At a rough count, I believe this is 384 canisters.
Yeah Vinnie, the controls on console are pretty brutal. Thought this game’s on my shortlist of all time favourites, trying to fiddle with that camera for fine tuning is just brutal.
Thought I'd upload this little soil centrifuge rig I ginned up. It basically supplies insane amounts of soil material for crafting resources in the SC. I've set all the medium canisters to refill small canisters, which then auto-loads into the centrifuge as needed. The red arrows show 2 more medium canisters; that's going to last forever. When I've depleted my supply, I just remove the large storage holding my small canister/medium canister rig and put it on the back of my large rover , then spend 10 minuets refilling it. I friggin' love this game.
Which one of you dummies told them the RTG was a bad idea to build?? It's literally the answer to ALL of their power issues! I built mine fairly early on and it was a revelation; production, vehicles and efficiency all benefited from that research. Pro tip: BUILD MORE THAN ONE! Multiply all resources for the recipe so that you make 3 or 4 of these bad boys at once. The game opens up significantly once you're freed of power management issues. Here's what you need for one: : 2 ammonium, 1 hydrogen, 1 graphite, 1 nitrogen, 1 titanite, 1 helium, 1 hematite, 1 argon, 1 organic...all x3 or x4.
Some unsolicited advice, to be sure BUT....that power issue is going to haunt you if you don’t address it!! Unlock the recipe and build an RTG. Mobile power supply that you can use to: power a vehicle or supply power to at least 3 of your big machines (eg: large shredder, centrifuge, smelter) at your base. They take a dog’s age to get the gas and resources, but once you have unlocked it, the whole game becomes your playground!
