I generally think that it's mentality. Once you let your brain wander a bit, you forget about the parts of the game where you go "Oh shit, I NEED to get this right" and then you don't worry about them while playing, and easily glide through. Being tense jitters your concetration and makes it difficult to control whatever it is.
