For what it's worth, it's really interesting to see something like this from a production standpoint. Granted, that doesn't outweigh the stress the video crew probably went through dealing with the footage loss, but if it's any consolation the result is kinda cool to see, in a weird way.
Chris' excitement about his game made me a thousand times more interested in it than some canned PR stuff would have, even if it was hard to understand. Hearing someone just get genuinely happy to see people interact with the thing they made rules.
Seeing prosthetics and wheelchairs immediately turned me from "eh" to "this is an extremely cool thing that almost nothing offering to make a representation of 'you' bothers with".
This was a nice article, though it did remain a little hard to swallow in any respect thanks to the other infinitely worse thing Fates did, cut content or no, which makes me really wish the game would just come and go and stop being talked about all together.
Honestly it'd have been nice if Fates hadn't even been mentioned at all. It'd still be a relevant topic, but it still feels to me like undue attention is being placed over the petting mechanic over much more harmful and terrifying writing.
