Hey everyone :)

Hey duders :)

I have had a long absence from posting on any forums as i lost my interest in games for quite a while but now i have my xbox one and ps4 (this Friday) and i am ready to get back on the scene so to speak. I love this website and the content they post on it and was truly saddened by the loss of Ryan Davis the gaming world has lost a legend. Anyway i have killer instinct and will pick up battlefield 4 for my xbox one tonight so if any of you fancy it please feel free to add me my gamertag is warrier22 i also have a lot of old 360 games as well if anyone needs co-op help. Hope everyone is doing awesome :)

First impressions of bioshock 2

Well i have been playing the game for the majority of the day now and what can i say its bioshock with improved combat mechanics. I still love the city of rapture and my insane need for loot is being satisfied which is also nice. Not too far into the single player at the moment because believe it or not i have been ranking up in the online mode which at first i was not convinced but hey its actually quite fun once you get in to it. If anyone fanncies some online frag action then hit me up with a friend request my gamertag for for 360 is warrier22. Bottom line if you liked bioshock one then you will i would imagine like this and really thats as good of an opinion as i can give :)

Mini review of dantes inferno after having got the full 1000 GS

Well i have not blogged for a while as i have been very busy with work and everything else in my crazy old life i really do need to invest in a device to stop time so i dont lose so much of it doing work related things. Anyway onto the topic that is the heading of my blog post i will attempt to convey my feelings on the game mentioned hope this helps anyone that may be thinking of making a purchase:-

Graphics

Well as far as graphics go i would say it is a very solid game some of the imagery is infact quite disturbing but it is all relavent to the setting i mean it is hell after all and you
certainly get the idea.  The initial circles certainly have that kind of wow factor but i have to admit the second half of the game loses the scale that you get a glimpse of early
in the game. All the art direction through out the game though is first class and credit really has to go to the art team and they have thought up some truly twisted and memorable monsters to fight against.  Dante moves quite well and his animations are fine especially some of the kill animations that he has can be quite satisfying all be it a bit repetative towards the end. Each one of the monsters that you fight all look very good and the animation on them is solid most of the time all though a bit more variety in the different types of monsters might have been nice. Over all it is a very good looking game with a solid art design and represents the circles of hell and its source material very well.

Sound

Sound wise again nothing amazing but still solid none the less, the voice acting across the board is also quite good with no one character being a stand out but all of them putting in solid performances. The sound effects are the usual mix of hack and slash type of effects present in most games of this genre and the muscial score is what you would expect given the source material. I dont have a huge amount to say about the sound mainly because it is nothing special it does what it needs to do for the title thats for sure.

Controls

I did not want to make the comparison too often between this and GOW but at this point i find that i really have no choice because if you have played GOW especially then you will be right at home with the controls. They are smooth and responsive and do the job that they need to do to help you slice up more and more enimies, there is nothing unique or inoventive with them but they are like the rest of the game in the sense they are solid and do what they need to do.

Gameplay

Well here is where the big comparisons are going to take place in this review of dantes inferno so i will try not to mention GOW too many times as i am well aware that a game should be reviews on its own merit. The game has you going from one area to the next slicing an ever increasing amoubnt of enemies as you journet through the 9 circles of hell. Progression is often stopped by gates/flame walls that you must defeat a certain number of enemies in order to progress which is standard for this genre recent games like bayonetta have also done this. There is an occasional lever/block puzzle but these are few and far between and do not provide any realy challange in the grand scheme of things. One element of the game that is kind of unique is ability to punish or absolve enemies once you have worn them down which ever you decide to do will add experience to either your holy or unholy skill trees. Its a nice addition that adds a bit of extra depth to the combat in the game, relics that you get can also be equiped to dante in order to give him perks so to speak.

Lastability

Well for my first playthrough it took me about 10 hours on normal difficulty setting there are no points for finishing the harder difficulty settings in the game however you can carry over your abilitys for a second playthrough if you want. When i played it on easy for the collectables on the second playthrough it took me just over 5 hours so its not very long in the grand scheme of things. There is a gates of hell mode that opens which pits you against 60 waves of enemies once you have finished the game which might be worth a look to some people.

Final thoughts

Well i would say i had fun with the game while it lasted i would recommend people rent the game due to the length and the lack on incentive to play through the game again unless your playing for the full 1000 points. With GOW 3 out next month its hard to say go out and buy the game but if you havea  bit of extra cash then give it a go its not a bad game just nothing amazing. Hope this review helped people out and feedback is always welcome as i am going to start to write more of these reviews.

Final thoughts on red faction (possible spoilers so be warned)

Well how we all doing its been a while my pc broke so have had to wait for a replacement hence the long time since my last blog. As per my above title i am here to offer my final thoughts on red faction after finishing it. Here is my breakdown:-

Graphical quality through out

Well overall i would say the graphics was as good as you could expect for a current generation game. The main draw as everyone knows is the destruction element to the game and i have to say that whilst it was fun it did start to feel like a one trick pony towards the end of the game. In terms of the environment i thought the studio made a good attempt at trying to add a bit of variaty to each of the zones that you travelled to. Overall i would say that the grapics did not wow me so to speak but they held up with the odd dip in framerate and over all i was happy with that section of the game

Gameplay

Well the gameplay was all about the destruction in an open world and whilst other games have claimed destruction this one delivers on that premises right from the get go. It is an awesome feeling to almost destroy a tower and as your walking away you hear it crash in the background and you know you have done your job well. There are the side missions as there are in most open world games these days but i did feel that these became very repetative towards the end (transporter missions i am looking at you) and did not add anything to the overall experience. So all in all the gameplay was fun and hectic at times and i enjoyed it whilst the experience lasted. Also on a side note the enemy placement had a habit of being rather cheap especially the last mission again this might be me being picky but thats my thoughts on the matter.

Multi-player

Well having not played a lot of the online for this game i can only offer basic impressions on what i thought coming away from it. In a nutshell i would have to say i thought the online was more fun than i had anticipated. I know this is going to be a short section but all i will say is that it was fun whilst it lasted.

Replayability

Well this game has a lot to do outside of the main missions it took me about 15 hours to get through the single player game and thats without a lot of the side stuff actually done. If you are the kind of person that likes to collect everything in open world type games then you should have a blast thats for sure and you will get your moneys worth thats for sure. There is also the online that has several modes and should provide more hours of gameplay should you choose to play that side of the game.

Final Thoughts

So my final thoughts are that whilst i enjoyed the game i did find it a bit repetative towards the end and also quite cheap in others. I had fun for the 15 hours or so but i will not be going back to it in the future i simply dont find the side missions worthy of my time. I hope this has helped anyone on the fence about the game or at least provided some decent reading for anyone that has viewed this.

I will be doing more of these as i get back into the regular blogging that i used to do before i lost the use of my pc. As always comments are welcome and feedback is always a good thing. Please no flaming as i am no expert on games i just like to play them. Peace out giant bomb community

Thoughts on dark athena campaign

Well i am about 3/4 of the way through the campaign now and my thoughts on it are positive on the whole.  With it following the same mechanics so to speak as butcher bay i knew what to expect going in although there is certainly less stealth this time around. Loving the all be it too brief mech suit sequence wish there was more of that within the game. Anybody else played it if so be sure to share your thoughts.........
