It's very unfortunate and rather disappointing to have Merritt K on this podcast. It's especially unfortunate as this is the first all women Beastcast, which is something I would be very excited about if it did not include her.

There was some discussion about "doing better" in the past during Bombcasts and Beastcasts. I know it sounds condescending to hear us say you failed to do better this time, but that's something that has to be recognized (and that Abby recognized in the editor note). It's not meant as a reprimand, and nobody feels good about it.

Unfortunately, I believe taking this down would be the right thing to do, to avoid giving a huge platform to an abuser with public discriminatory views. Deplatforming awful people is done to prevent listeners/readers from thinking said awful people are people they should seek to work with/ for. Simply adding a note that most listeners will miss feels like a handwave, even if that was not the intent behind it.

I think you have a responsibility to your community, to people hurt by Merritt K, and to people she holds discriminatory views against, to not give her a platform, even if it means having to throw away work you are otherwise rightfully proud of. You will have many opportunities to create more good content to be proud of. Continuing to host content that serves as a platform for an awful person hurts us all a little more with each passing day, which I don't think is what you want either.

I feel very sorry having to see Merrit K featured in your content and having to type out such a comment.

The remaster has a new combo engine as well, it allows for juggles and air combos which really makes some of the new moves shine. It's pretty sweet!
