My friends and I are writing for a small game site in our spare time (gameplaytoday.com). It's still unknown by the general internetting public, but it's steadily gaining in popularity. Thanks to that, I've just gotten an early code for Dishwasher: Vampire Smile for review. I'm very excited about it because I absolutely loved the original and it's the first game I've ever gotten early for any reason. So in celebration of this awesome circumstance I find myself in, I decided to make this blog post. I can't talk about the game yet, but ask me anything and I'll post answers to your questions to the best of my ability. On Monday. Because that's when the embargo's up.

How is the difficulty compared to the first game? I couldn't even finish the second level on normal in the first one. :(

Well this really didn't work out the way I'd hoped. Oh well.

In terms of difficulty, the game still has normal, ninja, samurai, and now speed run which I haven't tried, but imagine gives you one life for the whole thing. However, there's also easy as well as "pretty princess" which unlocks when you die a certain number of times. It makes every enemy ridiculously weak, turns every environment pink with hearts floating all over the place, and hearts and rainbows come gushing out of enemies instead of blood and guts when they're killed.

 @Shadow: Does it matter at all if you haven't played the first game (any callbacks I wouldn't get)? Is the story actually a major component of the game, i.e. do they ever explain what is actually going on? Also I think there is an option to play in 3D, did you get the chance to try that?

Actually, there is a 3D TV mode that I never noticed before. I can't tell you much about it anyway though, since I don't have a 3D TV

It's vaguely interesting, but not really deep or anything (other than Yuki's hallucinations). It's mostly just an excuse to go and kill stuff. "
