My only problem with this year's GOTY deliberations is the thumbnail. The couch is dead, and getting people's hopes up that they brought it back is click bait.
Seriously though, I still do hope they change the west set for the new year. I get the feeling they regret switching to the desk as well but they would probably get into trouble with the budget people for wasting money by getting rid of that huge thing.
I think it's time to retire that big bulky logo on the table (especially since it's technically not the logo anymore). It just looks sloppy how one of the corners is always in the close up shots and it's also cut off midway in the wide shot.
The table is prime advertising space and I think business dave would agree that putting different merch there every week would be cool, such as the new skate deck or various apparel.
@benpack: Your Cuphead quick look was the best work you've done. In it you know your stuff, you're prepared, ready & willing to work. Jokes fly, but they aren't the main point of the video. Veeery different feature, very different mindset. Sarcasm isn't a bad thing. There's a lot fun to be had with B-roll, old games & new, but when someone is chaining "Haha, fuck this game" - jokes together and constantly trying to get the cameras attention, it becomes irritating. That's the point of my dissatisfaction.

I'll just add on to the point about playing to the camera. You're probably aware of it already but whenever you're not watching a video or playing a game, you are constantly looking at yourself in whatever monitor is showing the audience feed. Just ignore it, act naturally, and have faith in the producer to switch to whatever shot is best for the show.
Whats's happening with sound quality? Sound is very tinny and very hollow...
I actually think the mic input quality might have improved slightly which ironically makes the sound worse since it's picking up more background noise from their air conditioning. It's also always been more echoey ever since they moved from the couch side of the room to the desk side.
The experiments going on with the youtube channel titles and thumbnails is baffling. Who is it supposed to appeal to? It's in between sincere and clickbait and just ends up being lame for not committing to either one.
I hope they keep the logo off the table going forward for the bombcasts. It was cool at first, but it sometimes gets in the way and messes up the focus on the cameras.
