Life after 30

I don't think it is that different from life before age 30.
But, psychologically, I am at a milestone.  I am no longer in my 20's.  I am lumped in with Adults always... rather than sometimes being grouped with teens/young adults.

It is weird thinking about my parents when they were my age, because they had me and my brother already... and I am not married anymore, and no kids.  My brother has 4 kids.  And, just thinking about what I can remember about my parents, I wonder how much I am like or different from them.

Everyone leads a different life. It isn't wise to benchmark the success of your life based on the achievements/accomplishments of others (if you consider kids an accomplishment), so I wouldn't think about it too much.

Your 30's probably won't be too bad.  You put the willingness to causally risk everything you have aside for a better, broader understanding of what it's all about.  In other words, you gain perspective.  Have fun being a real grown-up!

And being middle-aged isn't so bad, either.  It's just slower getting up in the morning. ;-p

Age is just a number. The problem is that biological age is usually different than numerical age, for some people the difference can be quite drastic. Also, it's never to late to achieve anything, it's nonsense to think that people who achieve at an earlier age are more successful.

I'm with ya buddy. I'm 31 but honestly don't feel a day over 20, at least mentally. Whether that is a good thing or not is yet to be determined.

Welcome to the club.  :p

It's funny that you find you are always lumped in with the adults.  Maybe it's because a large majority of the people I work with are over 50, but I am often lumped in with the young adults.  Do I still feel and in some ways act young?  Sure, absolutely.  But in the ways that matter, I'm as mature as any of the rest of them.  Except when I stick my tongue out behind their backs.   :)

one a side note, it has been a long time since I had a birthday cake with candles, but, What is the Number where people stop putting the number of candles on the cake and just go to those candles that are numbers?  I don't know if i could blow out as many candles as I have years now.

It depends on how lazy they may be... or how much space they need to cover up on the cake.
