FUPA11: Best of 2010

  • No game immersed me more then Red Dead this year. The world it created was great, the characters were great, and the game play was outstanding. RDR also wins my award for Best Cover Art of the year.

  • In a year full of games with outstanding atmosphere's Heavy Rain created one the most believeable worlds for me. Sure some of the chatacters had silly accents but it was never bad enough to fully pull me out of the immersfull world the game created. With all the hype surrounding the motion controls from Sony and Microsoft this year, I believe that Heavy Rain was by far the most innovative game of the year.

  • Just another first person shooter you say? Not by a long shot.. Heavy atmosphere, unique gameplay ideas, Great story and characters, and beautiful (at times) graphics, make this game stand above the rest. I can not wait fot the sequal!!

  • Story, story, story. This is the game that made me fall in love with RPG's. The replay value of this game is ridiculous, so many choices, so many options makes you NEED to come back for at least a second play through. The combat has been steamlined for the better, the story telling has been streamlined for the better. This is Mass Effect 1 but 1,000,000X's better. LOVE IT. Everyone should play this game, you are doing yourself wrong if you are a video game fan and you don't.

  • Atmosphere.. seems to be becoming a theme here, huh? This is one game that just merely seeing the screen shots made me want to get lost in its world. The silhouette look has been done before, but not nearly as good as it was in Limbo. The mistique of this game is like none other, and the not knowing is what keep driving me forwards. Great game, this is what downloadable games should be.

  • This wins my Best Debut award by a long shot. I was a little nervous about this game given the long development time, a lot of times that doesn't translate to a great game necessarily. In the case of Alan Wake, it most certainly did. A great mix of humor, thrills, scares, and adventure, Alan Wake is a little bit of everything. I just hope they next iteration doesn't take 6 years.

  • When this game was billed as a multiplayer Assassins Creed experience, I was a little confused. The previous two Assassins games were great just as they were, and I never felt like I needed to jump online and stab dudes. Boy was I wrong. The online in this game is great, it's unlike you have every played before and that's a good thing. On top of that the single player experience was amazing, by far the best in the series yet. This was a pleasent suprise.

  • Wow, this game is fast. It came in a little under the radar, but most certainly didn't disappoint when it hit. Vanquish wins my Most Fun game of the year. Sure there are some flaws to this game but if you just feel like sitting down, shooting shit, feeling like a bad ass, and having fun, then this is the game for you!

  • I don't necessarily agree with the Fallout 3 but different setting comparison this game so often recieves. Sure it's similar to Fallout 3, but most sequals (or new games within the same franchise) are this way. It's better then Fallout 3 in my opinion, in many ways, that should say enough right there.

  • The end of 2010 marked my first adventure into Smart Phone Land. I know i'm a little behind the times, but that's just kind of how I roll. I didn't get a iPod until 2006, I didn't get a Xbox 360 until 2008, and so on and so forth.. So I was rather overwhelmed at the amazing tech behind the iPhone. So many robust features, so much to see and do, so many apps,so many games, AHHHH!!! And through all of that the one thing that sticks out to me, the one game I still make time for every single day is Angry Birds. :)
