GOTY 2013

List items

  • It came out in the EU this year. Deal with it.

P4G was the first time I played Persona 4. I managed to time it to play Persona 3 Portable right before P4G came out. This also allowed me to play Persona 4 Arena straight afterwards.

  • It has been a long time since I played a Zelda game. In 2013 I played two. Windwaker HD and this game. As much as i loved WW this had to make my list.

  • The Uncharted games never clicked with me. I loved the character interactions of Uncharted 2, but I found the bullet sponge enemies to be highly frustrating. I came into this game cold, avoiding reading anything about it.

At first I was not enjoying playing it. The story kept me going and eventually I came to love the combat. I played on normal and I tried to avoid combat wherever possible. The game stressed me out, but in a good way.

  • I played it on console this year

I have just started my Hell game of Diablo III. I rarely replay games. Starting a third playthrough less than six months after the game is released seems crazy.

The hunt for loot keeps me going.

Opening my game up to random strangers online has been fun. I spent 4 hours playing with some random, we finished our second playthrough together. We did not say a word to each other.

  • I wish my Pegasus Knights would stop dying.

This is the first Fire Emblem game I have played. Bring on the Shin Megami Tensei crossover game

  • This game is everything I hoped it would be. And more.

The way your powers allow you to traverse the world are a game changer.

I really enjoyed the story. If you wondered how they could go crazier after SRIII, here is your answer. I love this game.

  • The world of GTA V is incredible. If you never intend to play the single player campaign, and just want to fuck around, this game is for you.

I came to GTA V for the story and characters. 45 hours later, I left satisfied. Having three playable characters instead of one is smart.

  • This is the first Bioshock game I have played. Some frustrating battles but the world it builds is what makes it great

  • This game is incredibly overlooked. Great storytelling and narration

  • I was not a fan of the PS1 Tomb Raider games. I could not stop playing this game.
