Just saw this exact same review on Amazon, really bumming me out since these games are my guiltiest pleasure of all....

I put in some time with this game, and it didn't seem too incomprehensible. It took some getting used to creating items, and it is a bit vague about what effects certain traits will have on which items, but it was certainly playable. For what it's worth I never finished it, it was a very middle of the road experience for me.

@alistercat: I didn't honestly, but hearing that makes me really think I should, it sounds like they kinda took out my only problem with the first games!

Are the investigations long in this one? I've always loved the court room parts and the writing in these games, but clicking around to try and find the last clue so I can get back to the parts I love really brings me down if it's not quick....

Actually, it seems to be going back to the series' roots in 1 and 2, where you fought demons rather than shadows, but you could talk with them and get items, money, and cards to later summon those same demons as personae. While I don't think it's going to be exactly the same system, I'm curious to see how this will tie into the story since 3 and 4 mostly had just shadows. Maybe it's time to see Nyarlathotep again?

Oh man, I was trying not to get excited about this game until we were closer to release but I guess that's out the window now....

Maybe this is old news, but I'm really excited to see why old personas are enemies now, maybe there's going to be some kind of capturing mechanic or something now!

The difference between her and The End or Code Talker, is that they have lungs, they reveal later on that hers are pretty much just ashes at this point. It adds a bit of justification, but I still don't like the way she looks at all, it's trying too hard for me. I just keep her in the Gray XOF suit.
