" @MysteriousBob said:Be prepared to be flamed to death for saying that. Despite how much I love Halo, I have to admit, I highly disagree with you on that. "" @TaliciaDragonsong said:Sorry, but this is like saying Return of the Jedi sucks, because you haven't seen Empire Strikes Back or a New Hope. Why is it "terrible story telling" to assume the fans have played the previous games? Perhaps a digster video that explained the previous events would have helped, but I see no reason to bog the game down covering the events that most players will already know. And yes, the story in Halo is better than Half Life's. "" Halo has a story, one much more present then other shooters. "No it doesn't. You're confusing it with Half Life. Either that or Bungie are just terrible at telling it. I never understood what the hell was going on in Halo 3 for a second and at no point did I ever give a shit about Master Chief or any of those other bland characters. Hell, they didn't even explain why I was fighting these random aliens. The worst thing a developer can do is just assume you've played the previous games- especially if the previous games were on a different system. Thats terrible story-telling. "
Isolated feel? Isn't supposed to be the point? You're just one man, how's using his wits and skills to survive from a experiment that turned into a shitstorm. In Half-Life 2, you were fighting along side with many allies, so I don't know how you get that "isolated" feel from Half-Life 2 and it's sequels.
