FF9 is obviously the best FF. Characters that aren't all mopey and emo and a world that is actually enjoyable to explore!
Start with Origins and if you can wait until Black Friday there will be a sale for the Gold Edition that is worth it. This is one of the few games where the DLC is actually as enjoyable and genuinely feels like it continues the game.
