Posting a post saying good bye and explaining your reason for leaving I have no problem with.

But when I see posts like "Mario Odyssey gets day one patch to fix saving issues" and "New trailer for insert name here" and it turns out to just be a rudely written ban me post it's just childish and trolling behaviour.

That's not how protests work. If you see people picketing, they aren't quietly holding signs off to the side saying "I'm upset. Ask me for more information." Public demonstrations are meant to be seen by everyone, and if that means pulling people into stuff they may have otherwise avoided, that's frankly perfectly valid. Disruption is necessary.

Successful public demonstrations and protests will always take the high road though. That is what makes a truly effective protest.

I really don't think the breakdown between profitable and not profitable is related to if its single player or multiplayer. It's all about systems. I play Destiny 2 solely by myself. I also find that many of the attractive aspects of really popular shared world games would fit very well in a linear experience. Assassins Creed Origins looks like a good example of that kind of progression loop that Destiny 2 uses being implemented in a single player title. There are online aspects to the game but it's just you playing through a story.

I find the contrast that we've inadvertently built between single player linear games and anything that touches a server to be too binary and easy to swallow. Seems too convenient for such an obvious either/or statement to weigh so heavily on the state of the gaming industry.

I like Destiny 2 quite a bit. I barely have time to play it and I think that adds a lot to it's value. This is not a game that can be played consistently and without breaks.

Weirdly enough, Destiny is one of my least favorite games of all time. I am still unpacking how I could have such a drastically different reaction to such a similar game.

There is more voyeurism to the dissemination of this story than politics.

This is not something that should be hidden but I do feel that a deeper respect needs to be paid to the private lives of people that suffer from such a traumatic thing occurring in their life. As Leupp stated, she didn't want this to go public. Perhaps it's kinder to leave this mess well enough alone. Perhaps the most compassionate thing we can do for Leupp is to deny our natural tenancies to pry into others lives and allow this to be worked out in silence.

Neogaf was huge and it would be really surprising to me if this doesn't effect peoples livelihoods. I hope everyone lands on their feet in this abrupt closure.

I sense a cloud brewing over this game. I really hope that the cynical gaming community can keep it civil. If the game has major flaws I'd love to see us approach it from a less mob like mentality.

No Man's Sky was so good.

Also sort of liked that Die Hard game on Gamecube.

This game came at the right time for me. I'm going through a really tough time and Zelda is that feel good game that is also fucking fantastic. It is sort of perfect in my eyes and will always make me think of my dog that just passed away.
