Basically - China won't rule against copyright infringement in favour of an overseas company - Apple have been trying to get them to cut down on all the iKnockoffs by doing a lot of deals with the Chinese government (including opening a significant number of actual Apple stores there) with the hope that this will make it more likely that they will seek to help them out - and while this has improved things, the issue is still rife for them - and most companies don't quite have the same reach as Apple when it comes to this stuff.
But digital titles in western markets? I don't think they'll stand for this for too long in parts of the world where they can legitimately defend their IP.
For future reference, you need to LOOK at things to interact with a lot of them - such as seeing the street signs or opening drawers etc - eg - look at the tv stand again.
Interesting read that mirrors my own experience pretty closely, but for what it's worth I can see why you and Notnert are getting tangled up somewhat and i don't think it necessarily has to be format war bollocks either - but anyway, here's my two penneth.
It's clearly a reasonably detailed breakdown right up to the Xbox One titles, at which point you justify your reasoning for not purchasing one (which is fair enough) - and then make (seemingly) snap judgements of 5 and Horizon 2.
As it stands I myself wasn't a massive fan of 5 - it felt soulless and empty but technically solid, which for a launch title is almost to be expected.
I didn't really dig the location and 'atmosphere' of Horizon 2 either - which rather killed it for me unfortunately as that was a big part of what got me the first time around - even though once again, it was strong on both a technical and mechanical level.
6 on Xbox One however is fantastic - a real return to form as far as i am concerned - full of content, with compelling racing, environments and the best and most varied handling model to date - and it feels exciting where 5 felt clinical.
Apex is stunning on good hardware, plays just like 6 on Xbox (apart from the whole points thing - which isn't present on 6 proper) but it is very, very limited on content and can be technically sketchy (and still doesn't let me use my G27 but hey - beta software folks).
Ultimately, while I concur with your optimism towards the series PC future - the article towards the end does read a bit dismissively like 'Forza can be great again - once it gets free from that useless Xbox' and while i don't actually think that's what you are going for - that is how it reads in my opinion.
The (cautious) optimism i have for the series future is probably slightly more so than yourself - largely because of both the fantastic experience i have had with 6 on Xbox One and the inherent promise of the subsequent PC versions to come - but i do also think that Turn10 have given Xbox One owners at least one truly fantastic entry in the series.
Either way - like yourself I am in truth very much a PC gamer, have been for most of my life, and will unquestionably be playing the future Forza titles on there (because like you say, it would be stupid not to if you have hardware that can do it justice).
