Are Microsoft holding GiantBomb to different embargoes to other outlets? Every other outlet seems to be talking about playing back compat games on series x, or talking about quick resume and loading times etc, even Bakalar on beastcast can talk about this stuff but not the bombcast fellas. When I saw the title of this I thought they were gonna be talking about the back compat stuff as other outlets are talking about playing Geometry Wars backcompat with auto HDR. It's a weird situation when the community here and the forums can talk more about the consoles than the GiantBomb staff that have the consoles.

The main complaint I seem to hear about the game is the lack of progression, or the fact that progression is just a cosmetic thing, with bigger numbers/ranks, and fancier looking gear, and I get it. In a world where most games, like Destiny involve you getting better more powerful weapons and abilities as you progress, it seems that's what everyone wants, even expects. But for me a game like this, and in my opinion most multiplayer games would be better with everyone on as level a playing field as possible. There are few things more infuriating that buying a game only to find that it's impossible to compete because those that have been playing since day one have the most powerful weapons and armour.

The whole, get more powerful weapons as you progress has always appeared,to me at least, to be a pointless, artificial progression that means little outside of PvP anyway, and is why I rarely bother with games like Destiny and The Division, that employ it. In any other game mode, as your weapons get more powerful, the AI enemies are also able to take more damage, evening it out,so all the way through the game you might as well keep the same first weapon against the same first enemy, as that's how it feels throughout the game. Obviously on the surface this may appear boring, so they dress it up by attaching bigger numbers to the weapons and the enemies, but actually it changes very little.

They've announced something's to appease those of us who were unhappy with VIP.

1 Million Cr, 3 tier 5 cars, and 100% Cr boost permanently to be patched in.

Good move, should have been like that from the start though.

Personally I feel "loot boxes" need to be banned. Whether they are purchasable using real or in game currency they feel like a first step to gambling. If you are rewarded with one that is slightly different, but the moment you choose to spend any form of currency on one it's gambling.

The real reason this stinks in Forza though is the way the game has been built to encourage the use of "loot boxes" and the inevitable inclusion of microtransactions. The car collection system means that you need to collect a bunch of cars you probably don't want in order to unlock the ability to purchase the cars you do want. Or purchase "loot crates", you might get them sooner.

Purchasing the VIP or ultimate edition used to get you 100% Cr boost all the time, now it only gets you it for 25 races. If you want Cr boosts you need the mod cards, which of course come in loot crates.

The racing/driving is better than ever and I'm actually enjoying the game but some of the things around it stink.

I watched all of this waiting for the realisation that the radiator and fans were done wrong. Jeff seemed to get close to grasping it but continued to do it wrong anyway.

Rightly the fans should be pushing air through the radiator, but it should be pushing cold air from outside the machine through the radiator, cooling the liquid that goes on to cool the component. The way Jeff did it was pushing air from inside the machine (warm air that is) through the radiator, warming the water, which then goes on to warm the component.

Please correct me if im wrong, but that is my understanding of water cooling and has worked great for me.

I was gonna ask about the possibility of GiantBomb apps on consoles, turns out the site works great on the xbox edge browser.
