My lord...Abby is trying her best to get some info out of Rorie, but he has a special kind of stream-of-consciousness way of speaking that is impervious to logical pacing and progression. I love it, sounds like my internal, unfiltered monologue!
I didn't know anything about this before seeing this video. My first impression was that it seemed really simple, like a mobile game or something. Then I read up on it. Oh boy. Sad to be right about this one. Also totally forgot that Runic no longer exists.
I've been waiting for a cool, new single-player ARPG to come out since Grim Dawn - which is the last good one I know of. Was excited for Wolcen too, but we know how that went. I would love some recommendations for anything I missed!
I am so happy to see Jason having fun with this. I just finished Subnautica and was looking for another underwater game, this thing is awesome! I am taking very slowly and exploring all the cool nooks and crannies, which makes it last quite a long time.
The best way I can describe this game is to call it a 3D platformer in the vein of Spyro. Controlling the shark actually feels a lot like the recent Spyro remaster, which is a huge compliment. The environments are all very different and taking your time to explore and find hidden stuff is super relaxing. This was my most anticipated new game aside from Cyberpunk, glad to say it lived up to the hype for me!
The original Descent: Freespace is also on GoG and there's a upgrade port of it also available via Knossos.
Thank you for posting this! The new mod manager is way easier than installing FSO back in the day.
For anyone interested, I highly recommend playing the port of Freespace 1 first - it sits next to Half-Life as one of my all-time favorite gaming memories from childhood due to its fantastic story/campaign.
