That was great, keep 'em coming! Love this kind of shennanigans. Dem moaning and slurping...

Guys I have a question, I've been complaining about the lack of Fear Gauntlet like crazy and no one seems to say anything about it. What happened? Did it got cancelled or what? Also what happened to Kessler? Why is he not eating chilli with you guys?

Edited by Hizang

@Deusx: Isn't it obvious?

They killed Kessler and put him in the Chilli.

I have a family recipe that puts noodles in chili. It was the longest time before I found out no one else does this, so I find all chili without it looks weird.

Is it acceptable to put rice in chili? Is that weird?

Careful there. You are moving very closely into Ribollita territory. Not that Ribollita is a bad thing...

Likewise, but replace noodles with Farfalle pasta.

A dash of sour cream, some tortilla chips and a handful of pasta through some piping hot (and spicy) chilli, and you have a mean meal on your hands.

@RuthLoose: Good Point.

Thanks guys, you inspired me to eat chili for the first time in my life today!

@1p: Rice? In chili? I think I might be offended.

There's nothing like a hot bowl of chili after coming in from the cold.

I ocassionally like chilli. it seems like it bounces between being a Mexican or an Italian dish by the comments here. I get the fixin's in a bag approach, and add my own beef, pork, beans whatever else..pretty good. Add-ons would be sprinkle of cheese and or various crushed crackers

Chilli in an enclosed office seems like a horrible idea..... just saying....

This is my Black Bean Chili of Regret

  • ton of lean ground pork
  • ton of lean ground beef
  • ton of jalapenos
  • ton of Hungarian hot banana peppers
  • 2 cans black beans
  • cumin
  • garlic powder (yes, powder)
  • molasses
  • honey
  • 2 cans beef stock
  • some cornmeal
  • salt and pepper

----

Get a giant pot! Everything happens in one pot.

  1. sauté the pork until it is rendered brown (that's a long time)
  2. salt the pork heavily
  3. throw some molasses, honey and lots of cumin in there.
  4. render some more, scraping up the goodies from the bottom of the pot
  5. add beef and cook for a while
  6. add a little cornmeal and stir it in
  7. cook some more
  8. more cumin, garlic powder
  9. chop peppers up and add them in
  10. rinse the gross bean juice off of the beans and add them too
  11. cook for a while
  12. add the beef stock so everything is covered
  13. bring to boil then simmer, closed lid
  14. find something to do for 4 to 5 hours
  15. stir every so often, season as needed
  16. eat
  17. regret

That Chili looks kind of like what happens after you eat a big thanksgiving meal.
