I need all of this inside me yesterday. ME is a very special game to me even with all of its faults. Hearing about this and Shenmue 3 on that same fateful day just about killed me from excitement. Two games that I never thought would get another entry are having another crack at it, and I couldn't be more happy.
Also, yes the parkour demands a certain level of finesse from the player. That's the whole point of the game. No you probably won't get everything right on the first try. This is what we call having a "skill ceiling". Get right out with the Dying Light comparison. I love that game too but you basically just press one button and let the game do all of the work for you for their version of parkour because your main focus is combat. ME is the opposite. The combat is secondary (and probably avoidable) while the parkour IS the gameplay.
I also don't enjoy seeing a game get bagged on when the complaints stem from user error. I'm 99% confident that this game will flow really nicely. That's what it's all about. Figure out a path on the fly, run a clean line, and feel the joy of cutting through the air and moving effortlessly through the environment. Maybe I'm wrong and the game actually doesn't handle well but I honestly don't think that is the case. Either way I can't wait to try more of arguably one of the most unique IPs in recent memory.
@superc0llider: I understand that. I'm saying MMOs are pretty ill-suited to shallow coverage in this style. It would be a real shame if people got turned off on the game because of this video because it has some legitimately interesting things going for it.
I'm sorry but this game is way too deep and has way too many systems for a Quick Look to ever be representative or useful in terms of actual game content. I'm sure there are people that are going to balk at me saying that but it's quite simply true. So, for anyone actually curious about this game, I would encourage you to see if you can get a guest pass from someone who bought it and just try it for yourself.
