I think the Zords was also called that because the 'Z' from Zyurangers was quite visible in some places, most notably on the Mega Dragonzord.

Really hope you get to Zeo. Was really impressed with that when I saw it for the first time a few years back. Has the original characters but was the first time they completely swapped the suits, zords, villains etc. to a new sentai.

Also, don't forget the first Power Rangers (1995?) movie, even though it's not canon to the show!
