Deadly Premonition Microgames!

So now I've spent a few hours working on a full-on Deadly Premonition microgame, and I have a few ideas for others. This first one is probably the most technically complicated by far, though.

In "Axe Evasion," you must do a one-button quick-time event to avoid getting hit by the axe of the red raincoated man! The button that you must press is random (out of four options! It took some effort to get this to work within WW:D.I.Y.'s constraints), and you have but scant seconds to press it!

O_O

If you succeed in evading the axe, you are rewarded with a poorly-drawn evasion animation. If you fail, however:

T_T

The only final art assets are the buttons, the timer and "Evade," and "Die." Everything else will probably be redrawn before I finish it up and "ship" it.

(Also, I'ma put any microgames I make into this thread! This is my last tangential, WW:D.I.Y.-related thread in the Deadly Premonition forum, I swear!)

Looks more like a golf club, but that gives it charm in a ridiculous way.

Congrats! Jeff Gerstmann linked to your blog. You now have the Jeff Seal of Approval. I haven't made a new minigame in awhile...and I do have a couple ideas...

This made my day.

another great microgame would be that you have to shoot a box 4-5 times to break it open.

Jeff twittered about your game!

Die.

This is pretty cool. Can't wait to see the final look.

With a little more work on the graphics, your game will be almost as good as the original! And that probably had a multi-million dollar budget!

Haha that was nice man.

I'm confused as to whether the music is the DP whistle song or the Super Mario World theme...

I few days ago I speed up the whistle song to match it up with the Super Mario World and the results were pretty great. It was almost spot on.

Whoa.  How the hell did you get "Life is Beautiful" to play for the mini game?  My mind exploded.

Now someone needs to sync the racing music to Green Day

That's fantastic! The more I see this game in action, the more I want to play around with it.
