I posted this story on /r/darksouls and someone else earlier said they didn't get quarter-healthed, either. But looking at one of the wikis, I'm definitely not the only one to experience double- or more cursing halving your health over and over again. Maybe it has to do with defenses or something?

@MrCandleguy: Oh God, don't get me started on the curse frogs.

I was straight pimpin' through the game, killing stuff left and right, 12,000 unspent souls and two Humanity, life was great. I'm walking through the tunnels in The Depths, killing rats and slimes like they're nothing.

Then, I fall through that trapdoor. "Oh shit, it's one of those curse-frog things I've been hearing about! DODGE!" I dodge out of the way, but oops, there were two more behind me. I die right as I kill the one in front of me with one hit of my halberd.

I come back from the dead, thinking "okay, I can do this; I can make it back down there, recover my bloodstain, pop back out, buy the item to remove the curse, and return to my former glory, no problem."

Then I fall through the OTHER trapdoor that leads to the same frogpit. Again, I kill one or two of them, but the other one still kills me.

Now, I have ONE QUARTER OF A HEALTH BAR, and I need to recover 4,000 souls without dying.

The next half-hour was pretty intense.

Best OP of all time, I'm calling it. I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. The edits make it priceless.

I am so glad I didn't get spoiled on this. The cutscene revealing it is too perfect.

"Huh, looks like there's crocodiles in this room."

"...Okay, gotcha, crocodile head, neck leads to a bigger boss monster. Of course."

"...Okay, it's a dragon-looking thing. Alright, don't panic, I'm a few hundred feet underground with no way out but I can do this."

"...OH FUCK ME THAT IS A BIG-ASS MOUTH ON ITS UNDERBELLY"

I lost the awesome Excel spreadsheet that I made to automatically parse the stats of a given game when my laptop hard drive failed, so I made a quick-and-dirty one in Google Docs just now to provide you with this semi-insightful data! (The number in each cell indicates the number of people who bet that X reviewer would give it Y score.)

...Yeah, as it turns out, Google Docs' spreadsheet editor is fucking awesome.

This includes all 103 bets made on the game, including the 3 that were cancelled because I'm too lazy to filter those out.

That is really weird, since when you type "Rage" into the search field here on Giant Bomb, it's the first thing that comes up, and, theoretically, imcalling.it's searching methods should mirror Giant Bomb's exactly. There's about a 60% chance that it's my terrible year-old programming, and about a 40% chance that it's a problem with the API.

In any event, here be the Rage page. When in doubt, just load up the game's page in Giant Bomb, copy the number after the hyphen in the last part of the URL, and then go to http://imcalling.it/game/[that number].
