Dependable Amazon, arriving at my door a good hour before most of the shops open. 
 
...unfortunately, I won't be able to actually play the thing for another month or so. No access to a PS3 (or a 360, for that matter) until then. Oh well, there's the soundtrack to listen to, the art book to read and the instruction booklet to drool over.

@Catolf: Yeah I got the game. Basically in the full game there are three more stages between the stages that were shown in the demo and a lot of cutscenes  that take place in the nightmare weren't shown in the demo. About 45 minutes of content was cut.

The way i was contrasting those two SMT titles was apparently not too transparent for some of these simple-minded Atlus fans.

To be fair, Strange Journey went up against Etrian Odyssey 3, a game partially developed by the same company (Lancarse in this case, more on this later) and which covers pretty much the same ground. Of course, Etrian Odyssey appears to add more to the old Etrian formula (which is itself a throwback to the old SMT games) than Strange Journey, which pretty much is the old SMT games on a new platform. Aside from that, Wii Fit Plus and Pokemon continued to dominate at retail. Heart Gold and Soul Silver continues to sell out of stock. Wii Fit Plus continues to outpace its predecessor. "

That's quite a feat, I'd say. 
 
Also, as the Gamasutra article says, 2010 was an insanely busy period for portable RPGs. 
 
On to the review! It's fair to say that the review seems to be riddled with disappointment and references to Persona 4 and Devil Survivor. Contrast that with the generally favourable reviews from other sites (Gamespot is nice enough to show the ratings of other sites), I'll make a bold and wildly unfounded guess that the reviewer might have been expecting a game of Persona-like and Devil Survivor-like calibre! Which is of course a bit of a shame, since both titles aren't actually SMT games like Strange Journey: The Persona series is a spin-off from the main SMT line (and known simply as Persona in Japan) and Devil Survivor's Japanese name is  Megami Ibunroku Devil Survivor. Going in with the wrong expectations is always bad. 
 
Final lesson? Because everyone else says something's good, doesn't have to mean it's actually good, also known as hype. Conversely, if one person says it's bad, it doesn't have to mean it's actually bad.
