C4's Top 10 of 2022

I had 10 days off work in 53 weeks, was a busy year running my own business, I did however finally find a ps5 to buy just in time for God of war Ragnarök and thank the Norse gods I did.

plenty of games I didn't get to, not a bad thing just a larger selection to play later.

Honourable mentions.

Tunic- Youd think with "A Link to the past' being my favourite game of all time I'd love this, but I didn't, it immediately rubbed me the wrong way and I stopped playing it. may try again and love it but for now I'm done with it.

Grounded- Was 11th on the list, only played about 10 hours enjoyed but its only fun co-op.

WWE 2k22- Gm mode, didn't play a single match, didn't make a single character just played with gm mode for 13 hours and was done with the game, got my money's worth.

Elden ring- tried to play this after God of war Ragnarök. I couldn't stomach it, it was different in all the wrong ways, I'll pick it up again in a few months and it may even earn a spot in the top 5 of this list.

Dying light 2- need to play co-op haven't had time to burden somebody with abiding my schedule and vice versa.

Horizon forbidden west- didn't get to it.

Stray- didn't get to it. looks neat.

SM miles Morales- didn't get to it, loved vanilla spiderman.

FF7 Remake ps5- didn't get to it.

List items

  • I played this game in all the (little as it may have been) free time I had for 6 weeks neglecting all sorts of other games, movies and shows.

The new BEST game ever, (not favourite that's still Link to the past) dethroning Breath of the Wild this game is not only the perfect sequel to an already 10/10 game, but it has also set a new bar and improved almost every aspect of the previous entry in the franchise. I did every side quest before approaching the end of the game as I was so happy living in the world of the game.

Standing ovation Santa Monica studios, you did good. also, I got the platinum trophy.

  • Do you want a game that's 30 minutes per play? This despite what people say isn't it.

Vampire Survivors eats hours and in the process of, it requires too much focus for podcast or audio books and the music is too good to play your own.

This game is by far the best Suprise of the year.

  • I loved until dawn, I'd been waiting for something truly on its level of production and scale and this filled that void nicely, its dumb, lots of its jokes miss the mark and a times I found myself actively trying to lead certain character into traps to rid myself of them. great game play it in the dark.

  • Stanly found himself Sitting in a recliner writing a summary of his game but didnt want to spoil anything, so instead he typed "hail satan" play the game.

  • solid game, if a ps5 and this was all you had to sim race on you'd be fine for years, do I have a small complaint about just about every little part of this game, yes. Is the sum of its parts still great also yes.

  • Its left for dead, in the Warhammer 40k setting from the little I've seen of the setting its fucking rad AF, played a few hours and loved it, just need a few friends to join me for maximum fun.

  • I play these games on my simulator every year, I enjoy the game every year, was this year's game better than the previous, no not really, it's still very good though.

  • Co-op masterclass, so much fun that i wish the studio was 10 times the size and could crank out content faster, went 1.0 this year so it got enjoyed in its entirety for the first time.

  • Good clean fun, great podcast or audio book game. if you like these games its among the best and of a much higher quality than the like of lawn mower simulator or power washing simulator. also fun with mates.

  • It's a very fun, not that difficult, a well-made nostalgia game, if you have a soft spot for the old games, you'll love it but it's over fast and has little to no replay ability for me.
