Some of my favourite games - Part 1 -

These are some of my most favourite games of all time. It is certainly not the list of the best games I have ever played - please bear that in mind.
Moreover, the list is neither complete, nor terribly well sorted, nor objective :)

List items

  • This simply came for me at the right time and the right place. This game just resonated with me like nothing else ever has. It still completely and utterly disgusts, frightens, and haunts me. I love it!

  • I can't really describe what I feel about this game. It just totally blew me (and my under-specced PC) away when it came out. Still, I have never quite felt this involved in a "encounter a new world" scenario since I first played Outcast.

  • Pure genius! Alas, with its straight-up JRPG gameplay it was released for the wrong platform (PC), or at least for the wrong audience at the wrong time. :o(

  • I just love this game.

  • Holy crap, gaming is actually evolving!

  • Best story and setting in a RPG ever!

  • F..K in the coffee! Plus lots of side quests, a neat rendition of a fictitious Washington state town, a great story, likeable characters and an utterly absurd conclusion. Add 100 bonus points for Twin Peaks fans.

  • Easily the silliest, most endearing game ever!!!!! After this you'll see Avril Lavigne with different eyes.

  • This looks very outdated today (especially on Dreamcast or the N64) but it was a very gripping and thrilling ride back in 1999.

  • I want this gem of action-adventuring to have case of the sequelitis!

  • This is a cool semi-interactive made-for-TV movie interwoven with a couple of personality tests and investigation elements which satisfy all your voyeuristic needs. A relic from the "interactive movie" days. Plus: John Hurt and a couple of soft porn sex scenes (not involving John Hurt). What else would you ever need?

  • I LOVE THIS GAME. Once your brain has learned to process and interpret the impossibility that is this game's camera perspective, you're fine to embark on a great journey full of adventure and killing slime monsters!!! A huge (for the time) island lies before you, Niles.

  • I like shooters. They are usually not really favourites though. This one though, heading a carefully selected list (including No One Lives Forever, Bioshock, and Shogo), is.

  • The best Simpsons game ever. The cool thing: it's even good enough to actually enjoy playing it. This plus the simple fact that it is a "Simpsons" game is enough to warrant this rank. They won't ever make a better one, I guarantee!
