@mmarsu: After watching that video I'll cede some ground by ackowledging that the attention to detail is definitely stronger in Mafia II. At the same time though, I didn't use or notice most of the things in that video when I was playing through it a couple of weeks ago, many of the things in that video seem borderline inconsequential, but again those little details add up and I kind of would love them in Mafia III.
@mmarsu: I wouldn't say interactivity as much as I would say it had shops. That's the only thing Mafia II had that let you meaningfully interact with the world. The game is a linear mission-based game and Mafia III wants to be a full open-world game, perhaps to the detriment of every encounter with the nameless, faceless racket bosses. Mafia III really wants to be a better GTA without all of the tired satire.
Alex's narrative convinced me to buy this. Even if something like that never happens, it will be interesting seeing how this procedural generation experiment actually works.
