  • The only game this year that will be played a decade from now and will continue to evolve throughout that time period. It is played on a competitive level for thousands of dollars, but can still be enjoyed by almost anyone who loves strategy games.

  • The best platformer I've played in awhile. Super Meat Boy gets everything right, and despite being incredibly hard, it never becomes incredibly frustrating.

  • I don't agree with all of the gameplay changes they made; ME2 is less of an RPG and more of an action game. But the story continues to be amazing, and the game is what it is.

  • A lot of people didn't like the changes this game made, or rather the things left out from IV. As a very casual Civ player, I found the changes is Civ V vital to my enjoyment of the game, to the point where I don't know if I'd go back. Mostly, the removal of stacking units makes this game indescribably better than its predecessors.

  • Red Dead Redemption has a great story and the game is beautiful. It also got me a lot more interested in westerns than I have ever been.

  • Battlefield came back to the PC this year, and it was better than ever.

  • Unlike the Call of Duty series, Bungie didn't just release another Halo. Reach improves a lot from Halo 3 multiplayer, although the single player campaign is a little disapointing being the last of the series.
