I've purposefully been avoiding coverage of Fallout: New Vegas, not because I was avoiding spoilers or because I wanted to look at the game with fresh eyes, but because I had somehow convince myself that I had no interest in it. I played the absolute shit out of Fallout 3 but I think I convinced myself that that was that, and the game was out of my system. However, after innocuously opening my Steam account, I saw that the release is only a few days away. Somehow this got my blood pumping. Most of this is from remembering the pure excitement I got from exploring the Capital Wasteland, finding secrets and small snippets of story tucked away into every corner. I'm not sure whether I'll pre-order it now or wait until some reviews come out but if New Vegas turns out to contain anything like that sensation, they have my dollar.
