Ok, guys, let's bring it in a little bit. That was hardly the unbearable video you all seem to think it was. The push for eSports may be a little too much, generally, games that push for that never seems to make it, but aside from that, its a game dev talking about his game, nothing new here.

@toxicantidote: fair play! I completely missed that, it was very late in the day and I was going on almost 12 hours at the office...

The lions share of the coverage for MGS:S has been done by the West Coast, so I am not that surprised they are doing the Quick Look. Having said that, I must admit I am a little disappointed that Dan isn't at all present for this....shit show.

@logansexsmith613: Waypoint in particular is very guilty of this, specifically, Danielle Riendeau being essentially Austin Walkers outlook echo. I enjoy their podcast, and occasionally read their articles, however, at this point I can safely anticipate her take on most things based on how Austin feels about it, or how "woke" the point of discourse is.

And look, that is all fine and well, I have absolutely no issue with anyone's opinion, but if I am coming to you for your take on a product so as to inform my purchasing decision, that take is made moot by the fact that you will judge a game based on how queer it is, rather than its quality

These have all the cadence of a porn intro scene, and I love every second of it.

This is absolutely spot on, and I 100% echo the sentiment. Yes, its supposed to be entertaining, yes its supposed to be fun, but Dan is not playing with the teams best interest in mind, and it really undermines the whole feature. I mean he literally leaves other characters out in the open to "draw" fire away from him. Consider that, if the name given to Dan's avatar was different, there is absolutely no way that he, or any other player would ever make that decision, "tactically".

And so, you have Abby and Alex, making a genuine effort towards the best possible outcome for the whole team, while Dan actively sabotages the operation, solely for his own enjoyment. Don't you think that Alex would also enjoy playing as his avatar, as they build the fiction around this feature. To each his own, I supposed, but for me, that really spoils the fun.

Not even sure why I bother reading the comment section anymore, it's just filled with "salt" about something that at the end of the day is supposed to be entertaining not pro level gameplay.

This isn't really about how 'good' their skills are, it's more like we're watching a relay race with one team full of people we're rooting for, it's going quite well but it gets to the third person they take the baton and walk at a leisurely stroll, winking and shrugging at the crowd saying 'I don't want to pull a muscle!' and ruining the team's chances in the process. If he'd actually tried to get the best team outcome nobody would have problems with him losing two people (look at Abby's genuine attempts that resulted in the same loss).

I really really like Vinny, as much as someone who consumes another person's content on a daily basis can. I think he is a real standup individual, but I absolutely couldn't play games with him. I'm all for having a little fun and being silly, but it can be hard to watch sometimes when they sacrifice showing the games off or progressing in a long playthrough just to indulge his silliness. And it's fine when the game calls for it, but a lot of the time, in this and other quick looks, in the Yakuza series (which I love and sincerely think it is a fun and well-made video series) it seems really forced and throws the whole vibe off. I'm sorry to keep harping on this, I really hate complaining about stuff. Oh and Vinny I really love you, I hope you don't read this and have a negative response to it. Just sharing my two cents.

Wow, I was really hoping you guys would do a QL for this game! It's a fantastic entry in the genre, and I've been having tons of fun with it. Highly recommend to anyone who's even mildly interested.

I dont know why but lately Vinny has been trying to force...weird things to happen in games, and it kind of rubs me the wrong way. Like its unnaturally forcing the game to be played and its almost annoying. I feel like a complete ass for even mentioning this, and I've been holding it back for a few weeks, since the beginning of the Yakuza series to be exact.
