The Ultimate Zombie Game 0

Zombies are arguably one of the greatest enemy types in video games. You can kill them over and over, but it will never be enough. They will find you, and when they do, you need to be ready. In Dead Rising, you’re always ready. As Frank West, you’re stuck in a mall filled with everyday items that can easily be changed into lethal weapons. For the next 72 hours, you’re stuck in this mall, with thousands of zombies and psychopaths. Dead Rising is a flawed, and sometimes frustrating game, but wh...

Metal Gear Fan Service 0

Metal Gear Solid was a landmark achievement in video games when it was released back in 1998. It pretty much popularized the stealth genre we know today. Add in some amazing cinematic presentation and a complex narrative, and you've got yourself a hit. However, it's also one of those love it or hate it kind of games, and depending on what side of the fence your on, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater  is either another overrated video game or the best thing since... well, Metal Gear Solid 2. ...

An Insanely Good Masterpiece 0

The GameCube may not be the most popular console that has ever been released, but I'm not going to deny how many great games I've played on the little purple box. In no specific order, my favorite games for the system are Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.  I'm still debating in my head if Metroid Prime or Eternal Darkness is number one, but that's for another time and place. What you ...

Finally! A Good Batman Game! No, Seriously! 0

Batman is one of the most well-known super-heroes of all-time, but definitely not because of his video games. Let’s face it, the only one that was halfway decent was the freakin’ LEGO game. Now, little-known developer Rocksteady Studios has stepped up to the challenge of creating a good Batman.   Not only did they succeed, they made one of the best games of the console generation thus far, Batman: Arkham Asylum.  Pros: - Gameplay that makes you feel like you really are the Dark Knight - Fl...

The Same, Great Game 0

I’ll never be able to understand how the good people at Insomniac Games pull it off. Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction has the same exact gameplay as the four PS2 releases, but it somehow manages to feel fresh and new. The fun I’m having is the same fun I had with the first game in 2002, but I really don’t care, and neither will you.             One of the most important additions this time around is an actual story arc. You’re still trying to save the galaxy, but t...
