First off, I'm a huge batman fan ever since the animated series that I watched when I was a kid. But I never was a huge fan of the batman movies, that was until Batman Begins came out. Because I loved Batman Begins so much, I had huge expectations going into The Dark Knight. As the date got closer to its release I got really excited, so I bought my tickets early for a 12:30 viewing the day it was released. My friends and I showed up at the theater at 11:00 to get a good seat, but there was already a huge line. I didn't really care because we still got great seats. This was the first movie I have gone to that people actually dressed up as the characters (I live in a very rural area), which was awesome. Knowing I was surrounded by other huge batman fans, the atmosphere was incredible. At the height of my excitement, the movie finally started. After an amazing two and a half hours, I now have a new favorite movie.

The day after seeing this great movie, my family and I took a trip to Chicago. While there I found out that much of The Dark Knight was filmed in Chicago. I could definitely recognize some of the buildings from the movie. I also saw that The Dark Knight broke the record for both opening day and weekend box offices. Hopefully The Dark Knight can keep this up and break more records. It definitely deserves it.
