I do agree games are better now but there was a certain magic or belief from around up to the early PS3/360 generation that video games could be capable of so much more. Like how Kojima talked about a concept in MGS4 where a seed would be planted and over time it would grow into a tree or how he wanted The End fight in MGS3 to last 2 weeks. Or Peter Molyneux and all his cockamamie ideas in his various games like that Milo Kinect demo. You could believe that those were possible. I remember hoping that in GTA someday you could be able to walk through the door of every building and there would be a fully realized interior and that still hasn't happened. Now it's known that something like that isn't really possible on a technical level or practical for gameplay but there was a time when you could dream. And it's not like we couldn't get there now with better technology but there's always other priorities.

The player character at the start of Danganronpa V3 was so unfathomably stupid I couldn't go any further after the first trial. I was begging for a twist somewhere to happen because the ways to get out of that situation were so obvious

Gravity Rush 2 is the PS4's best game.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has the 2nd best story for a Metal Gear game after 4 of course.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the 2nd best Deus Ex game and the best of the more modern high budget immersive sims.

I remember watching the premiere of the very first episode of The Fairly Oddparents. It was a pre-9/11 world. I don't remember 9/11.

I will also advocate for Gravity Rush 2 which I honestly think is the best game Sony has ever produced.

More games should be like MGS4 and be the definitive end to their series story so fans don't have to worry over their favorite games coming back when they never will. A lot of Sony first party have just been retired with no meaningful conclusion like Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Resistance, Killzone, Infamous, Syphon Filter, Days Gone, etc. But they won't do that nowadays on the off chance they could revive it and nothing is ever allowed to officially die. Most of these games could've had a fitting end with their latest entries, Sly Cooper 4 especially. Uncharted 4 also showed it's possible.

In Watch Dogs 2 you watch someone try to kill himself by gassing himself to death inside his car in the garage and while you're probably supposed to save him you can also choose not to and just watch him die and it counts as a completion. It also takes a while for it to end so you're just sitting there for what feels like several minutes watching the most uneventful ways to commit suicide. All those people who requested Watch Dogs 2 be nonlethal only are completely wrong and missed out on one of the funniest games of all time.
