UselessNinjaMan: Best of 2010
This was one hell of a way to start off 2010 in gaming, and it still stands as the most memorable experience of the year, superbly crafted by the wizards at Bioware.
As far as I'm concerned, Blizzard can just about do no wrong, and they certainly didn't disappoint me when SCII came out. A quality product all-round, this one is likely to stay in my playlist for quite some time.
This game is simply ASTOUNDING. Easily one of the most noteworthy games of 2010. And it's also really fun to play.
Beautiful, brutal artistic design, quality technical performance and the very fact that this made it to the PC made this one of my most pleasant surprises and experiences in 2010.
Once again, the quality of Blizzard's work shines through in what seems to be the year of the expansion. The massive changes made to the 1-60 experience are nothing short of astounding, and the vastly improved quest design does much to alleviate the MMO grind. Also: Guild levels.
I've never much cared for games in which gruelling difficulty is a primary feature, yet the excellent controls and level design keep me coming back for more punishment.
Also, it's hilarious.
Though the absence of the original cutscenes is (understandable and) a shame, a new gender for the protagonist, tweaked battle system and other improvements make this PS2 classic relevant once again.
While still a bit bummed about having to miss out on God of War III due to lack of console, its little brother here certainly gave a meaty, bloody enough adventure to help sate my hunger for deicide.
Yet another solid expansion in 2010 for a solid game. Good stuff.
Expansions done right. A wonderful addition to a great game that takes a risk with its main characters and offers more than just the same old goodness.
