@passingthrough:

Does your opinion of 9S change by the actual end of the game?

Jeff's been on fire lately. His opinions on music is the main reason I fell in love with this site. This year's content has felt pretty devoid of his usual commentary, but this was raddddd.

@cuuniyevo: No offense taken. I see your point and agree with you for the most part.

Unfortunately, we're talking about someone who's willingly put themselves on theinternet for a video game site skewed towards younger audiences, which only still exists because of a retail tie-in with the largest video game retailer. Are you honestly shocked that a rabid online fan base from babby's first gaming site took a joke too far? Doesn't make it right, but it's hardly surprising.

I think your argument more appropriately addresses a problem with youtube/internet culture in general.

@cuuniyevo: Most of the people involved with the RtH livestream came out of it with some dumb new nicknames, and no one was upset about it besides Hanson. That's the only reason why the community latched onto it so hard.

Like others have said, one GI staff member even called in wasted at 3am, having a drunk, crying monologue for 20 minutes or more about her crushes and other private, embarrassing things from her personal life. Even so, I don't think I saw reference to it past a few weeks after the live stream, because she just laughed it off.

Can you really blame a fanbase for trying to have their little in-jokes? If Hanson wouldn't have been so awkward about it, it would have blown over in a week. It's not the comments were malicious about it, they were seriously just a bunch of "Ben Big Poop Hanson." It was a little naive for him to think agreeing to a 12 hour livestream involving alcohol wouldn't end up with some embarrassing moments.
