Too stupid for puzzle games

I don't like puzzle games. Well, that's not true, I do. Sometimes. I prefer when games of other genres have puzzles in them. I can solve those. But when someone is making a pure puzzle game, they put to much effort into creating the puzzles. The Misadventures of P.B Winterbottom was recently released on Steam, for €3.99 if my memory serves me. I had seen the QL EX of Winterbottom, and it look interesting, so seeing it for so cheap made it an insta-buy for me. Steam is evil that way. Anyway, I plowed through the tutorials with no problem. Then suddenly I hade to start thinking for myself. This in turn lead to me punching a wall and turning the game off. Are the developers expecting too much from the player, by not going through all the little tricks needed to finish the levels, or am I simply too stupid? I've got a feeling it's latter.
I eventually turned to the dark side of force (walkthroughs) and finished the level that way. By the way, I would never have figured it out for myself. So now I'm basically cheating my way through the game, hoping I'll pick up enough tricks along the way to be able to solve some of the levels for myself again. Feels less than satisfying.

I need to stop buying puzzle games.
