They're more like a Japanese female version of Menudo since they've been together since they were like 12 years old, but unlike the members of Menudo, they didn't get sent to the glue factory when they turned 18.

@baka_shinji17: Sure they're not, but in a way they have a lot in common in terms of the people behind them like producers and such. I'm not a huge fan of Kyary Pamuy Pamyu, but I recognize she's got some catchy tunes. She's a bit too cutesy for my taste though. The Perfume girls seem more "real."

On a similar note, I might see Babymetal live in the foreseeable future. However, I do not want to fuck any of them because I generally have no sexual interest in the musicians I listen to. I'm also pretty sure it would be illegal in this case.

Whenever I've tuned into a Japanese stream that has AKB on it they've always managed to play that commercial. Feels weird.
