Loving these vids. That monkey watch one looked like a nightmare, and it was great to see you pass it on the second try on that .5 stream.
That being said, the song in this stream is a banger and every time you say you hate the song, I die a little inside. The only redeeming thing about failing remix 3 so much was that I could hear the song more.
I've actually been a [mostly silent] defender of the VN genre, but I'm not sure what VNs I have actually played now that I think of it. I'm morbidly interested in Hatoful Boyfriend, and I loved Danny O'Dwyer's play through of it on YouTube.
I think my love of the genre mostly came from playing the Ace Attorney games? They might be slightly more involved thanks to additional mechanics like searching for clues and the courtroom "battles", but I think they count, no?
Either way, I've thoroughly enjoyed all your FFF blogs, and I eagerly await your next VN-related blog, should this series continue.
Wow, I had heard about a secret ending, but I never could have imagined that is how things turn out.
I loved watching Danny O'Dwyer's play through of the game and that motivated me to pick up the game on Steam and I think the Vita (might have it on PS4 as well through PS+?), but reading this blog now kinda makes me want to go and actually experience the madness on my own. Holy heck...
OTOH, I've recently been watching a series on YouTube called FFVII Machinabridged and it is downright high-larious. Really makes me want to go back and play that game again, something I haven't done in well over a decade.
I remember enjoying the game at the time, but that was a LONG time ago. I also haven't touched the game in ages, so I'm certain I'm looking back on it with rose-tinted glasses.
To this day, my favourite part of X-2 remains the 1000 Words concert scene, and I think I'll stick to never playing the game again in the hopes of preserving some semblance of positive memories about the game. However, I will continue to occasionally go back and watch the above concert scene on YouTube, and just soak myself in how good it is, and never apologize for it.
X-2 may very well be a bad game and a simple cash grab, but in some way I'm still happy it exists just so we have that song.
I honestly don't remember a whole lot about this game except the 1000 Words concert scene, and I have always really liked, or even loved, that scene. I still have the Japanese version on my phone after this many years, and it still garners emotion out of me every time I hear it.
I came into this thread ready to defend that scene to the death, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that you enjoyed it.
