Movie adaptation of the book "Siege of Jadotville". 4 out of 5 Leopolds. Had all the action, but almost none of the politics. Suppose it was a calculated omission.
Agree with the idea of it being whenever your formative years were, so for me, the late 1990s and early 2000s. The first two Suikoden games, plethora of other JRPGs and Western RPGs like Neverwinter Nights or some RTS like Black and White ect. Although that is a personal take on it, more objectively its right now and beyond. Perhaps starting from the crowdfunding era.
