Raiding Some Tombs

I never cared much for the previous Tomb Raider games. I always viewed them to portray Lara as invincible or a sex symbol with hilariously large breasts. So when Crystal Dynamics said they wanted to reboot the series and change those things, I was fully on board. The game started showing up and I became even more interested and threw down a pre-order. Now that the game is out, all I can say is "WOW!" I knew the game would be pretty great, but this game is absolutely amazing so far. I'm not too far through the game yet only because my girlfriend likes watching me play and I told her I wouldn't play without her, but I'm having a lot of fun so far and the story reminds me a little bit of Lost so that's intriguing, as well.

Now, seeing as I haven't posted on here in quite some time, how are all my old Giant Bomb friends doing? I'm not going to even try to promise me posting on here more, but I've definitely starting coming to the site more. You might see me in the forums from time to time, but I don't know how many blogs I'll post.

All this was meant to be was a quick check-in, so consider yourself checked!

Arkham City Pre-Ordered! Oh, and I guess I should visit this site

So, I haven't been on this site recently and I thought I'd update with something cool that I did recently. I have pre-ordered Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition and I cannot wait until October 18th. My only problem now is the fact that the Batman: Year One animated movie comes out on that day as well and I need to decide if I'm gonna purchase that on that day as well. Either way, I already have requested (and had approved) that day off from work so I will be spending that whole day in Arkham City.

Anyways, just a minor update. I'll try to post more but I don't know how easy that will be. I plan on doing some more forum posts since that way I will feel back in the community even if I'm not posting blogs as much anymore.

Catwoman's Back!

Apparently, I will only post blogs when I feel like it now. Which is fine, for me at least, because I don't know when I'll feel like typing stuff. But, I do know that every blog I post will now only consist of stuff I feel like talking about, so enjoy!

Movies, Movies, Movies!

I've been watching a lot of them lately. I finally watched all of the X-Men movies. I originally only watched the first one and never went back. I gotta say that the first three are complete utter crap. I did not like them at all. I did, however, enjoy X-Men Origins. The CGI in Origins wasn't that great but I really enjoyed the story. It's probably mainly because of Wolverine is my favorite character but that's another story. I also watched Men Who Stare at Goats and Law Abiding Citizen and I recommend checking out both of those if you haven't already. Men Who Stare at Goats was entertaining and had some pretty funny parts. Law Abiding Citizen was a movie that I feel is very underrated. It didn't do that well in theaters and the critics didn't like it that much but I thought it was a nice little thrill ride. It also kinda makes you think near the end.

Netflix is currently sending me V For Vendetta which I still haven't seen so I'm excited for that and I just got The Dark Knight on Blu-ray not too long ago so I'll probably watch that movie for the 32nd time. Yes, 32 times. I'm not making this up. I'm just a little fan of that movie. Or maybe I'll watch Inception for the 3rd time. Decisions.....

It will probably be The Dark Knight though so I can finally see that on Blu-ray and to celebrate the awesome news that Tom Hardy is gonna be Bane (knew it) and Anne Hathaway is gonna be Catwoman (ummm....YES!) in The Dark Knight Rises. Too bad I gotta wait until next year for that.

In terms of movies in the theaters, I saw The Green Hornet and.........no. That movie was decent at best. If you really want to see it, fine, otherwise wait to rent it. It's not that good. The first 10 minutes were the best part of the whole movie to be completely honest.

Games

None. I haven't really played games much lately. My WoW time has expired because of classes so I haven't played that in a while. When I do finally play my Xbox, for something other than Netflix, I'll probably continue Assassin's Creed 2 which I've been enjoying a lot lately. I have a long list of games I need to catch up on though so I will have options for a while. Also, my money situation is tight (college student) so that will take care of my buy-more-games problem. The two games I really want to work on though are AC2 and Bioshock at the moment so I'll probably play one of those when I do turn my Xbox on.

So, I guess that's all I got for this week. Kinda boring, yeah, but I'm living a boring life at the moment. I may be going to GDC though so that will be exciting. I'll know for sure by the end of this week, so I'll let you guys know.

Until next time, remember, the night is darkest just before the dawn.

Remember Me?

I just want to say to everyone who did actually care, or at least pretended to care, about my blogs here that I am sorry. I left kinda suddenly a while back and never really said anything about it. But fear not cause I have returned....kinda. I can't guarantee that I will be posting regularly or checking this regularly due to classes, work, and having an ever-expanding social life. I seriously find that I am always doing something now. Whether it's going to college and doing college stuff, working to afford to do college stuff, or social life things due to college stuff, I am constantly doing something. This is good/bad. Good because it's productive for having a future, but bad because I can't play video games as much, watch movies as much, or post on here as much. But I do promise I will try my best to keep you guys updated on more than you need or want to know about me.

Also, on the off-chance you're wondering about that girl I talked about so long ago in my last blog post, we are not dating nor did we ever date. I will say that I really like her though. In fact, you could say I am in love with her. But, she has a boyfriend who she lives with so my chances are pretty slim to go out with her. We are still friends though. Although, her boyfriend isn't a big fan of me (obviously) and since he seems to like to control her, I don't see her that much. Oh well, it probably just isn't meant to be but I'm still hoping she realizes how big of a douche/worthless piece of shit that guy is and breaks up with him. It's to the point where I don't want her to break up with him to go out with me (although that would be awesome), I just want her to break up with him because she deserves much better than him.

Anyways, enough of my boring personal stuff. I will try to post on here more. I was thinking of doing a weekly update thing where I talk about games I've played, movies and TV I've watched, and other stuff I did during the week. That would probably be on a Monday or something so look out for that.

Until next time, welcome back to the land of my sad, sad life.

Stressful Situations

It sure has been a while since my last blog. Since then A LOT has happened. Here is some stuff that has happened organized for your pleasure.

Giant Bomb Stuff

The big thing that has happened is that I broke 1,000 forum posts. Obviously I have a long way to go in that challenge I started, but I am proud of myself to get my forum posts up. Another thing here on GB that has taken over my time is the new quest system. Since I am an achievement whore, I am in LOVE with these quests. However, I find the mod-only quests to be kinda bullshit. I guess in no way do they have to let the quests be earned by everyone but the fact that the mods are the only ones that can get them is really shitty.

College

This is the reason for the title. Finals are next week and that is great because that means I will be getting 3 months of time to do stuff that will be mentioned later in this blog, but it also means I gotta get shit done NOW! Luckily, in the program that I am in, we don't have exams we just have projects that are due on the day of when we would've had an exam. This would be fine if I could actually get shit done! The problem lies in the fact that on Thursday my power cable for my external hard drive broke and all my files for finals are on that and only that. So I ordered a new one from the Western Digital site and ordered the fastest shipping they had. I would've had it yesterday if they put the order through. According to the status they still haven't finalized the order. They sure as hell took my money though. So I hope to get that tomorrow but I doubt I will. Once I get that I won't be as stressed though.

Work & Lost

Oddly these two do go together. Obviously as I mentioned in my last blog I got a job. I've been working there for over a month now and all I can say is: it's a job. Nothing spectacular but I'm getting paid so that's all that matters. One nice thing is that everyone there is pretty easy to get along with. Especially someone in particular. Yes, it's a girl. No, I will not say her name. I will just refer to her simply as "her". Anyways me and her get along perfectly and we share similar interests and humor. We are constantly joking around and having fun at work and I guess it could be looked at as flirting but I don't want to say it is. Anyways, she LOVES the show Lost. I mean LOVES it. And I told her that I haven't seen it but since it was in its final season I guess I should start so I can watch them all back to back. Her response to this was to let me borrow the first season of Lost. This was very helpful because now that I can't get work done I have time to watch this. Also, my Xbox Live expired and I won't renew it until after finals for fear of getting distracted so this helps alleviate my MW2 needs. So I love the show and I'm so glad she got my into it.

Kick-Ass

I also saw this a couple weeks ago with her, her friend, and another co-worker. This movie was AMAZING! I loved it so much! I will definitely buy this when it comes out. If you like superhero movies at all or like to make fun of them or just have fun watch this movie! It's really good! That's all I really have to say. Hey, I never said I was a reviewer. The next movie I will be seeing is Iron Man 2 on May 7th with a bunch of friends when it comes out.

Apartment Hunting

Last but not least, I will be moving closer to work and school probably in July. Me and a buddy of mine are going to room together and we found a place that is perfect! It's a 10-minute walk to school and a 15-minute drive to work. That's much better than the 45 minute to an hour drive to school/work that I have right now.

So that's about it. I hope everyone reads this that follows me. Also, Achievement Update is going to be halted indefinitely. I don't have the time right now to type these up. I may return in the summer but otherwise, expect these blogs in the recent future.

Until next time, GO WINGS! Don't lose Game 7.

Surfin' Bird

So as you may or may not have noticed, I haven't had an Achievement Update in a while. Well those will continue but I thought I should continue to do regular blogs again. So here we go with an update!

First off, I finally got a job meaning that I will soon be able to afford games again. The only problem with that is the fact that I have absolutely no time to play games. You know how much time I had to play games this weekend? I got three MW2 matches in this whole weekend from Friday to today. Yeah, it's that bad. But I will eventually have money again and then I won't stress out everytime I pull up to the pump on my way to or from class.

Another thing I have noticed is how low my forum posts are here on my favorite website. I mean I only have 861. My good friend Mr. Jakob187 currently has the #1 spot on the forums with 11,126 posts as of this writing. So I will now challenge Mr. Jakob to the #1 spot. Sure this will not be easy, and looking at my track record with me and Jakob's gamerscore challenge, I will not win or even come close. But friendly competition is always fun to have. So I will now sleep and tomorrow begins the day of my forum surfing stepping up.

So I've been continuing through Borderlands when I have the time and I gotta say, it's getting pretty awesome now that I have Bloodwing (yes, I'm a Hunter) swooping in and taking out 6 guys every time. Leaving me to usually only have to kill one guy. Anyways, there's your weekly update.

Until next time, GO SAINTS!

That's it. I have nothing to say really. No I didn't get Mass Effect 2 because I'm poor college student looking for a job. If I had that money I would definitely show you all the awesome achieves I have gotten in there but alas, I do not have the game.

Until next time, Chuck me.
