This game seems very well put together, definitely larger than sum of its parts. It seems like a joy to play too, not too frustrating and combining some of the best parts of the games that inspired it.
I am about 70% through the game and trust me when I say the it gets very frustrating in the later stages. The game becomes very puzzle focused and requires very precise jumping and timing to proceed.
That snake boss music really sounds like music from a Genesis Sonic game.
I'm definitely picking this up sometime in the near future. Should I play Dragon's Trap first? I've had that in my backlog since it came out.
Monster Boy is not a direct sequel to the Wonder Boy series, more a spiritual successor. Although with many of the same original devs on board, you may as well count it as a Wonder Boy game.
Story-wise, go ahead and start playing Monster Boy, as it has no continuity from the Wonder Boy III remake...the only thing you may miss are the references.
I'm pretty sure I spotted Rey fighting alongside stormtroopers and then you can unlock Han Solo and Chewie...so you can just mix up any of the characters regardless of whether they are Rebel or Empire storywise? Seems a bit odd..or maybe i missed something there. Half watching it so possibly Jeff explained it at one point
@orion1189: Hmm interesting...I guess that isn't too bad then. It just highlights the crazy trend of remaking games with exact same name. Need for Speed, Battlefront and now Prey...there are probably many more. I just dont get it...new game, new name imo
@cyberspacecat: It used to be on Steam but was delisted some time ago, so there will be ppl with 2006 Prey in their libraries and they should have been accounted for
