@noizy: I'm not sure what you mean, that's a stylistic choice to try and make things look cartoony while also providing contrast with the backgrounds. It's not any sort of default shader or material in Unity. Also according to this article it's running on Unreal https://www.exclusivelygames.com/double-fines-rad-gets-official-release-date/
@monkfishesq: it looks like at one point it was meant to be entirely first person but then someone wanted it third and decided to just put the player halfway in view instead of just your gun and called it a day.
@gundogan: I honestly have no idea. I'm a Unity dev and I've never had issues with Xbox One controllers in Windows 10 but then again I don't know what controller packages these games are made with.
Also some dev chat: there are people working real hard on good controller compatibility but on the whole the amount of controller hardware and drivers and operating system combinations is a goddamn nightmare!
