Who do you think is the best publisher going?

Financially speaking Activision is easily the best ,from WoW account payments and anualizable(sigh I don't know how to spell a fake word) franchises. But as far as quality I think EA is up there between the great games from the partners program and inhouse stuff like Battlefield. Then there's  Capcom with they're retro releases on XBLA and PSN and they're games like Lost Planet 2 and Dead rising 2 but they defineatly have some stinkers(Dark Void). Another good publisher is Ubisoft with games like Splinter Cell Conviction and Assassin's Creed 2 but of course they have some stinkers(Shaun White Snowboarding). So in your opinion who is the best publisher?

Been Thinking

I've been thinking alot lately about portable games with everything that is happening with them right now(PSP go, me buying an ipod and the release of some big DS games) and the place they have in the industry.
Believe it or not most kids now they're first videogame device will be a portable system either it being the price of it or just that you can take it anywhere that is just how it is.
Now if you really analize that who ever owns the portable market could own the console market because of influence. It happened with me , my first gaming device was a game boy and my first console was a N64 , I was a kid that just knew about pokemon and mario and for that I bought a N64 totally ignoring the Playstation.
Now 2 of the 3 main companies in the handheld market have consoles, the one that doesn't is apple if they wanted to they could not update the ipod/iphone and make a real competitor to the ds and if it beats the DS then those gamers that start with the ipod/iphone might never evolve(highly unlikely but still possible). One thing that you might be thinking is kids wouldn't know how to download stuff from an ipod but parents 40 and under know how to and guess what kids don't know how to buy games either. Another thing the PSP go seems overpriced compared to other PSP's and the DS but it is well priced compared to its main competition the Ipod.Think about it 200 dollars for a device that plays music movies goes online and plays games with 8GB to one that does exactly the same and has double the bites and better controls.
So what I'm getting at is that portable are probably going to be the most important part of the industry and you have to be in the market to get to consumers first.

Ipod game impressions and more PS3 impessions

Well I recently bought a new Ipod(A.-Because I needed a new MP3 player and B.- Because I wanted to play some of the games) and have been playing alot of games on it(most of them free) here are my impressions of each:
Flight Control: Very addictive but some frustration in some levels. Also very good that I can play music while I play it
Drop7: Also pretty addictive and really deep but the concept at first was incredibly convulted, got accostumed to it.
Fieldrunners: I don't like that it doesn't have a specific grid but it's balance as far as towers and money is fantastic. Wish there were more stages.
Rolando: Very Very good game. It really is a showcase of the ipod' s technology in games only complaint is sometimes from moving the ipod so much you can't see it
Topple 2: Good art style and good gameplay but I dislike the use of the gyrometer
Zen Bound LITE: Got the trial version, liked it but just  little bit too anoying to use to fingers on the device
Squareball LITE: LOVE the artstyle kind of difficult but  in a ninja gaiden way
Idracula LITE: Good shooter but just tad inprecise
Geodefense LITE: Good balance but very unforgiving
Eliss LITE: I like the art style but using two fingers is a little bothersome
Star Defense prelude: Dislike the art style but best balance of all the TD game on th ipod
Critter Crunch LITE:I like both the art style and the puzzle mechanics but it gets a little overpopulated with new elements.

Anymore recomendations on games and also out of all the lite games which should I buy first? :)

Now onto the PS3
Finally finished MGS4. I really enjoyed what they did with the story and all through the last acts I felt were very epic from the boss fights to the cuscenes. Now as far as the fights between the Metal Gears and the Beauty and the Beast fights are good(especially mantis),but the boss fight I most remember as being an enjoyable gameplay experience was Vamp's it takes every little part of the game from gunplay to the CQC and just condences it in a few minutes plus what comes after that is fantastic. The thing I disliked the most was that Kojima like's to make my hands to cramp with non stop triangle mashing. As far as the last boss battle I liked ibut I felt it could have been so much more epic.
Alot of people told me that LBP would get frustrating and it has but it is not the platforming or the levels but the physics are incredably annoying and that is why I have stopped playing it.
In an attempt to finish Uncharted I went through 5 chapters in a day(12-17) and really like how the game semi changed its pace but something has gone wrong with the disc and it freezes everytime it starts loading I guess I will never finish this game.
Oh also I got 100 dollars for my birthday last Wednesday, I was thinking on putting 20 dollars of my own and getting Batman and Halo 3 ODST  but I wanna hear from you what I should get

Games of the Fall

  • Fall can sometimes be full of good games. This year is quiet strange it has still a good amount of fine games but it looks considerably less than the last two years. Here are what I would say are some of the must own of this fall:
  • Assassin's Creed 2: It looks like they listened to the criticisms and improved on what was great controls
  • Uncharted 2: Looks to improve on everything the first one did and more
  • Brutal Legend:Tim Schafer's metal love note seems to be made for the metal lover in me
  • Borderlands: I love Diablo and I love shooters. Borderlands is Diablo+Shooting mixed with some good co-op.
  • Halo 3 ODST: Like I just said I love shooters and Halo is kind of the reason that I would even think of playing them on consoles so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love it especially with Firefight which took the best part of Gears of  War 2 so yey!!!!!!!!!!
  • Modern Warfare 2: the original took me away from Halo 3 and every other game that year I hope #2 can do the same as it is the last game I'm crazy anticipating of the year.
  • Ratchet and Clank:A Crack in Time: It seems like they finally used a bunch of the empty space in the first game that people didn't like(even though I did)

and that is it for the MOST ANTICIPATED GAMES OF THE FALL OF 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why wouldn't you?

Downloadable games are the best thing to happen to gaming in a long time. The lower the price and they are as good if not better sometimes than full retail games.

Opinions on the PS3

Well recently I bought the new PS3 Slim and with it what I believe the best 3 exclusives for the console MGS4,LittleBig Planet and Uncharted. This is what I think of each:

MGS4: I am at the begining of Act 4 and I think the game is pretty good.It is my first Metal Gear but I downloaded the database and learned about the story and everything. One thing that I find really good about the game is it's versatility in the way that you can play part of the game stealth and part of it run and gun. The cutscenes do lag on a bit, but what keeps interested in them are that they put a little bit of interaction like seeing through snake's point of view or remembering something.Overall it is a fantastic game and pretty well paced can't wait to play until the end

LittleBig Planet :I find LittleBig Planet to be very touching. I always smile when I play it , which is something I can't say about every game I play. Frustration in that game is almost null and in it when you fail you understand why you fail. The user created levels are a really good feature. I haven't tried to create a level yet but will soon.

Uncharted: At first I found to be a little too frustrating simply for the fact that enemies appear before you know where cover is but eventually I got used to it. Now the story is fantastic I feel like it is a modern day Indiana Jones and the voice acting coupled with the animations just make it even better.  The platforming is pretty good and I never feel lost. My only complaint would be that I am know at the spot where the waterjets appear and the game freezes on me, it may be because of the new update or because it is a used copy(gamespot didn't have new) but I hope it is not the prior because I really found myself enjoying all parts of the game and hope I can continue it.

Now that is what I think about these three games so far. What I want to know is what are some good multiplayer games and some good downloadable games ?
I dont have many friends that own a PS3 so maybe by playing multiplayer games I can get some friends who knows?

Japanese Gaming

Japanese Gaming what a weird beast it has gone through ups and downs it practically revived the video game industry in america and now it is in a weird period because of the beast it has created the american market which is much more bigger than the japanese market
So let's see how each of the 5 biggest japanes third parties have done on these generations consoles(ps3,xbox 360):

Capcom: I believe that capcom really gets the american market with games like devil may cry 4,lost planet, resident evil 5,street fighter 4 and dead rising . It also totally gets downloadable games with Megaman 9,Bionic Commando Rearmed , SSF2THD remix and much more but I do believe thay are really lacking in undderstanding add on dlc like the street fighter 4 costumes and resident evil 5 multiplayer which are both obviously on the disc and you are just downloading the unlockable code for them and then the re-release of lost planet instead of ofering that extra content as DLC but still they have done more good than bad
Grade: A

Namco Bandai:They have released some good games but no triple A titles some backwards in design but it is ok. Now as far as downloadable games they have been so-so pacman championship edition and galaga legions are both brilliant but with they're retro titles are just plain out robbing you and they're add on DLC is just plain out terrible selling an extra level for tales of vesperia that is almost giving the player an auto pass for money
Grade:B-

Sega: Hasn't even really been japanese but they have defianetly had some good games and some bad games but they give the vibe that they're just in it for the money. Then they're downloadable games have not been all retro games that are honestly over priced especially with they're new compiliation and well they're dlc has been practically nonexistent
grade:C

Konami:Other than MGS4 everything else has been bad and really on DLC they haven't put anything interesting
grade: D+( that plus is just for MGS4)

Square Enix: Awful they're games have been terrible  but they have felt all like experiments (Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4) but I also think this has to do with the genre they make the eastern rpg can't be done well if it isn't evolved a little perfect example Persona 4 is great because it is just not an RPG it is also a sim and it's RPG mechanichs are different from the typical Jrpg. Also they have just not gotten the 360 or the ps3 even tho we are in the 3rd year of this generation
Grade:F
