Who better to give you insight into the weapons of id Software's post-apocalyptic shooter RAGE than Snoop Dogg? When this man tells you that something is capable of "taking off a motherf*cker's head," you trust him because he knows what he's talking about.
i like it how the beep fails to cover him saying motha fucka.
the wingstick.... you could cut a motha fuckus head off with this XD
I love the random celebrity appearances that are a part of game marketing. The less sense they make, the better.
For years, rapper Snoop Dogg has made no secret of his love for games. In 2003, he appeared in the popular True Crime: Streets of LA (PC, Xbox, GameCube, PlaySation 2). In 2004, he hosted the SpikeTV Video Game Awards. In 2006, he helped found the Hip-Hop Gaming League, and was supposed to star in Fear & Respect (pictured), a now-canceled Grand Theft Auto-style crime game from Midway.
Now, in 2007, Snoop and games have come together again, with less than spectacular results. The New York Post's Page Six gossip column is reporting that the oft-arrested rapper was recently paid $150,000 to appear at a benefit for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
While said fee paid is a princely sum to most, it apparently was not enough for Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus. According to the Post, in addition to other accommodations for himself and his entourage, the hip-hop artist "insisted on having an Xbox in his dressing room," according to an "insider" contacted by the newspaper.
When an Xbox could not be produced, Snoop refused to take the stage, prompting an event planner to borrow one from their children. Once the Xbox was put in Snoop's dressing room, he began playing it and "smoking dope," apparently enjoying himself so much he didn't take to the UNICEF event stage until an hour after he was originally scheduled.
Rage Synopsis
Rage is set in a post-apocolyptic world brought on by a devestating asteroid impact. The year is 2035 and Earth is now filled with human-like mutants and a military faction known as "The Authority". You the player have been preserved underground in what's referred to as the Ark. The Eden Project was a massive undertaking to construct hundreds of Arks to preserve the human race before the asteroid impact. Each Ark contains 12 humans with complimentary unique talent and skills. The purpose of each ark was to maximize chances of rebuilding society post-impact. Unfortunately, the impact was so devestating that many Arks were destroyed, including your own along with the other 11 humans. You emerge from the underground ark to discover a world of many challenges.
Rage Gameplay
Rage is a FPS (First Person Shooter), but it has expanded on the idea of just being a run and gunner FPS, into something more multi-layered in terms of game play. It can be best described as being a multi-genre game because it includes heavy elements of racing with vehicles similar to dune buggies, RPG story-based, and of course intense shooter action as well. Rage also boasts extremely intelligent AI combat system for the single player campaign.
Rage Multiplayer
Creative Director of Rage Time Willits noted that Rage's multiplayer component is known as "Rage Combat Rally". It fuses the traditional shooter-to-shooter multiplayer aspect with the game's racing aspect. Aside from shooting and killing other players, you also earn points by reaching rallying points via racing. Rage will also feature co-op multiplayer.
