Raleigh Holmes has the closest thing to a pedigree that is possible in the gaming industry, being a second generation contributor to game development. The daughter of musician Robert Holmes and stepdaughter of writer Jane Jensen, both of whom were well known for their contributions to the adventure game genre at Sierra with the Gabriel Knight series, Raleigh took after her father and went into music. She is currently the lead vocalist and songwriter for The Scarlet Furies, a folk band that also includes her father, Robert Holmes. The Scarlet Furies provided the soundtrack for Gray Matter, a game written by her stepmother Jane Jensen, making the work a true family effort.
The Scarlet Furies will also be providing tracks for upcoming Kickstarter-funded game Moebius, from Pinkerton Road Studio. As a part of the promotional reward tiers, Raleigh agreed to provide $250 USD contributors and guests a concert during the Pinkerton Road Studios open house, along with a CD. $5000 USD contributors are offered a private concert anywhere in the United States.
Raleigh provides the voice for the titular character Erica Reed in the title Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller by Phoenix Online Studios. She is also contributing the vocals for "The Taking," the Robert Holmes-composed main theme for Cognition.
Raleigh's birthday is June 22.
On October 31, 2013, Raleigh was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After two surgeries and six months she is on the road to recovery, however due to the costs associated with the surgeries, care, and treatment, Raleigh and her supporters took to crowd funding on youcaring.com in order to attempt to tackle the immense debt. Targeting $85,000 USD, Raleigh's donation campaign ended up just shy of 50% at $42,270 in contributions from fans.
