I just lost my mustang because I wrangled another horse. It looked like a good horse, but is there any way of knowing what horses are fast or just any bestiary in general? Once I tamed that horse and hitched it, I guess I lost my yellow mustang...

The golden horse you get in the first area, the white horse you find in Mexico, and the black horse you find in West Elizabeth are all fast. Once you break them, their certificates can be bought at any general store.

I did not know this. Awesome. Tired of having to find and break a new Standardbred after mine gets mauled by a bear or a cougar. Also, is it just me or is there a total lack of hitching posts up in West Elizabeth?
