    How  did this game get such a high average score on Metacritic? I'm seeing a lot of high 90s and even some 100s on that list. I don't get it. Wild west never, ever resonated to me so maybe I'm just born to not get it. It sounds so lame, it's even worse than steampunk - at least steampunk has some "style" to it.

    Entire fact sheet of stuff you can do.  
     
    This game is just great. It is getting high scores for a reason.  
     
    Here is a personal thing I just did. 
     
     
    I go out to get a bounty. Shoot him in the leg and lasso him
    Toss him on my horse and head to town. He starts  bitchin about his friends and all that. THEN a group of his friends start to chase me. I shoot a horse in the head and it tumbles off tossing the man off.   After turning in the bounty I get channlged to a duel. And because im new. I did not under stand the dueling system. SO I sink about 10 shots into the guys nuts and win the duel. 
     
    This is all before days end. After which I spent playing poker and clean house.

    That you don't like the setting has nothing to do with what others give in their review scores..  
    If you don't see the appeal of the wild west this is propably not your type of game...

    Its hard to sell a game when we dont know what you like, and I doubt many people are gonna list every little thing. Theres loads of mechanics in the game, lasso, games, quests, sidequests, can ride horses, animations are great, graphics are great, storys cool, voice actors are amazing, great atmosphere, loads of NPCs, animals, random events, massive map, lots to do, multiplayer modes, unlockables, co-op, free-roam with friends, free roam in single player, horse and carts, accessories for your guy, cool 'little' things (like shooting off hats, guns etc), variety in missions, made by Rockstar... thats it really.

    @White: If you're not in to the Wild West and think it sounds lame, then it's probably not for you - you don't need someone to 'sell it to you' and you can spend your money on something which interests you personally.  
     
    You should never interpret reviews or review scores to mean "You will definitely enjoy this game.".

    @The_Laughing_Man: That sounds like way too many steps involved to be fun. At least in Just Cause the grappling hook it's just a 1-step thing. Also, horses are lame. Fast cars are where it's at.
     
    Maybe I just really don't like the Wild West and horses. F horses and their horse armor.

    The Wild West has so much potential for video games it's ridiculous. I was hoping developers would figure this out sooner though.

    Then /thread. You will not like this game.  It is a Western Open world game. Horses cowboys Robbers. 
     
    P.S there is no horse armor.

    Open world old west should be enough. The final fight isn't bullshit like in Gun.

    So it seems like you've already dismissed the game which is fine. Don't be flaming it if you can't understand the game's direction. Go play something else.
